I have just emailed Mackie, Electro Voice and DB Technologies asking for their thoughts on the subject. Lets see what comes back. yawn more bose bashing......... is it because they is black? YourBigEvent 0
I have always said they are not 'real' disco speakers, but then again I don't do 'real' discos, they are ideal for the funnctions I do. Eskie 0
One day, maybe one day (although I won't hold my breath!), the plebs who feel they always have to slag the Bose L1 system off whenever the opportunity arises will get bored of it!? cos it's certainly getting very tedious now  Funny ain't it that the people that own the system on here such as myself, Paul D, Paul S, ADS, Bri etc don't go round slagging off other speaker systems! Andy Westcott 0
Well, for what it's worth, I don't think there is any flaming of those who have chosen to use Bose systems - I see it all as a bit of light-hearted banter, and if anyone is taking it seriously, then maybe they should sit back and take a deep breath, and re-read some of the posts properly, and in the context it is intended. I expect most non-Bosers are, as I am, actually interested and intrigued by the new technology - perhaps it's some of the Bose users themselves who have the problem? Exactly the same thing happens with football team choices, and here again there is a minority who have to take it all too seriously, and turn a bit of fun into an argument. Let's lighten up a bit, guys. smile icon

Paul Smith 0
Agreed. And don't forget to use the emoticons folks when being jovial and having friendly banter. The problem is that the banter tongue out icon gets a little frayed (boring  ) when it's repeated time & time again by the same people :nono: . It's becoming a 'How can I knock the system some members have choosen to use' obsession with a few on here - which really reflects on them although I think that they fail to see that
Jimbo55 0
perhaps it's some of the Bose users themselves who have the problem? I have rarely got involved. I do, however have to disagree with the above statement. (well possibly one person who extols is virtue in nearly every post he makes) Time and time again people have had a snipe at the slightest mention of Bose L1 systems. Do not believe me? do a search right now! If you keep throwing enough remarks and trolling for a response people will react. If you read the posts you will see that Bose users have discussed integrating the system with other speakers and been taken to task because of this even though it has been designed to do this People have come on this forum and been genuinely pleased about various equipment that they have recently bought and received courtious replies and advice about how to get the best from it. So why not the Bose L1? I genuinely respect peoples choices and opinions. We all have different personal experiences of equipment both good and bad and I would expect there to be different views (and a few love/hates) Anyway, can't see what the fuss is... everyone knows the Bose L1 system is the best in the world :ads: Jim Digital Fusion Entertainments Bose L1 system user. Welsh Audio Man 21 0
i confess that i have put my bit of banter in about the bose system. But after hearing a set on demo earlier this month, i was rather impressed at the sound from them. Im now weighing up the investment over profit side of things. When the price on the bose comes down, i may well get a set. After looking into it, its all down to the type of work you do. For my large discos, live rigs, etc etc, my main speakers, amps go out. But i think the Bose system would sit well in a conference or corporate work, and would not only sound, but look good too. Just my oppinion

And don't forget to use the emoticons folks when being jovial and having friendly banter. I agree with this hugely.. I made this comment below and should of used an emotican as I said this in jest. Maybe they are jealous cause they can`t have a set.. As I have had a set of Bose and sold them I think I have a big say in this debate.. Sound is a passionate thing to everyone in the musical industry. Different sound systems sound different to each person.. Someone will like a certain sound others won`t.. Bose is a big issue on this and other forums I suspect because of its price tag. You don`t see the likes of Eskie, Brian, Jimbo, Paul S etc speaking negative about any other sound system. So lets keep the debate sensible please. Its the Bose owners choice if they want to use bose and its my choice if I want to use Mackie. If you feel you need to slag off anyone`s choice of equipment please take 5 mins make yourself a coffee and think to yourself Its their choice.. after hearing a set on demo earlier this month, i was rather impressed at the sound from them. Im now weighing up the investment over profit side of things. Can I advise you and any other collegue of mine on here that you listen to them during a gig if you are intending buying them. As you know I bought and sold mine after 3 months because the sound wasn`t what I was looking for. That doesn`t mean its not the sound your looking for.
