More Questions About Hd-2500

Recommended Posts

If you have a selection of songs in a playlist on one side of the unit, and you have the fader start connected, by lowering and raising the fader, can you start the next track?

Can you have both sides going to one channel, or do you need to leave two faders open if you're alternating from one playlist to another?

There was another but I've forgotten :(

I know you would have to have two faders open if fading from one playlist to another.. If you wanted the system to fade through one playlist then you only have to have one slider up - Bit like letting a CD play through one side of your deck, even on relay play you would have to have two sliders up...

Dunno about the fader start as I don't use it....

Oh, an involved explaination needed but basically the answer is yes yes, and yes.

If you have a playlist on say, the left deck and have the play mode set to CONTINUOUS, then the unit can crossfade out of one track into the next - all on one fader/channel on the mixer.

This handy feature infact applies to ANY list of songs on the screen of the DN-HD2500...for example...say the bride has come upto you just before the buffet background music and tells you that her mum loves Neil Diamond tracks, and asks if you can play a few during the buffet, simply search for Neil Diamond, the list of songs by him appears instantly (assuming you've got some by him)...if the 2500 is set to CONTINUOUS on that side, then it will play all those tracks yielded search results in a row...better still perhaps is to leave that side on SINGLE, select RELAY PLAY and select one of your background music playlists on the other side of the 2500, also on SINGLE. You'll then get one track played from your playlist, one Neil Diamond from your search results, the next one from your playlist, another Neil Diamond, etc etc...

The 2500 also isn't lazy or "standard" when it comes to Fader start options either. OK, of course, when you lift the mixers fader, the music starts...BUT...what would you like the playing music to do if/when the fader is brought back to zero? The 2500 offers you two options - "Pause" (handy for Musical statues etc) or "Return to Cue Point".

What I really want to do is put the fader up and track one plays. When I put the fader down and then back up, track two plays and so on. Is this possible?

Yes - If you wanted to do this all on one mixer channel only, you'd simply need to have the Play mode set to Continuous, and the fader start mode set to Play/Pause.

Alternatively, you would have things running on two faders on the mixer.

Also, theres something that could well be a happening on a future free firmware update for the Denon DN-HD2500 which would be of interest too.:ads:
