MintyDave 0
I have just got my grubby little hands on a S/H hc-4500 to try for a week or two. I have installed the latest drivers and have hooked it up and got it working eventually (really should read manuals) firstly i ran through my internal soundcard and noticed i couldnt adjust the laptop volume in windows and only had the option of using the onboard low latency option as opposed to simple. Now this may have been something that the latest VDJ update did but i have never noticed - ring any bells? secondly what mapping tweaks have you done to make the unit better for the usual mobile jock. I see the hot keys 1-5 are assigned to hot cue where i would prefer loop length with maybe 1/2 hot cues the effx obviously dont work without doing something else first, again must read the manual or watch a youtube video. lastly what mode do you leave the jog wheel in or do you swap modes for searching etc. Will take some getting used to i suppose and the last thing i want is to fluff up at a gig, practice needed but please share any tips Richmond Karaoke & Disco - Professional Mobile Disco Service For North Yorkshire - www.rkdisco.co.uk
DJMickeyk 0
Best tip I can give you is read the manual and set it up the way that you like, there are preset mappers available to download on the Denon & VDJ (I think) websites, you can also download a DN-HC 4500 skin for VDJ which is really cool. Also if you are using it with Vista / 7 you need to adjust the jog trans to 12+, think the default setting is 4. It is possible that the previous owner has already done this however, the unit will crash intermittently if you don't. The manual explains how to do this. Best of luck with it, I find it to be a great unit. www.tipperarypartydj.com
