Mmmm, a most DMX lights have little controllers (hand held things) with a button called black out, or you can just drop the shutter channel....

It really depends if your lights have them avalible, what are they?

  • 2 years later...

Sorry to bump this thread, but is there a similar control (blackout only, nothing fancy!) for a Geni Color Blaster ( http://www.geni.com.hk/product.asp?classid=1# )

- I have 2 of these units connected by 3 pin XLR running in sync, but have no control apart from the mains supply, which obviously dosn`t do them any good (as well as having a 15 sec test period after power up)

Thanks,

Do the lights have the jack connection? Stupid question but if they do a ca-8 or ca-6 would suffice.

It has a black out function.

If they dont have the connection just ignore my rambling as most do..........

Thanks for replying to a newbie.... not ignored at all!

The control input is 3 pin XLR (they are daisy-chain linked - at the mo #1 has a spare input, and it`s output goes to #2s input also via 3pin XLR.

Spot the guy trying to get his local clubs lighting working properly (I was volunteered!)
