  1. I haven't thrown my toys out of the pram :hurt: I've only spit my dummy out so far tongue out icon
  2. Orange Don't want to change though as I've been with them since my first "house brick" phone, and they have excellent coverage. Where I work, only 3 companys have coverage, Orange, Vodaphone and Cellnet.
  3. Ah!, but they are in the minority because they are doing something illegal. If the government brought in this ban because they care about the nations health, then they should have gone the whole hog and banned tobacco, then the smokers would be in the minority because they are doing something illegal. With regard to the landlord breaking the law by allowing punters to smoke in his pub. Didn't Emily Panchurst break the law to get women the vote. Didn't Nelson Mandella break the law in his country in his fight. I'm sure there are lots more, but I can't think of any while I'm at work.
  4. Part Four I rang my mobile operator the other day to switch to a higher tarrif, twice what I'm paying now. I was told that because my current contract still has 4 months to go, I would have to pay £80+ quid to be able to pay them more a month.
  5. I personally have 1 folder called music, then underneath/within that, each Album has it's own folder, ie Music Now56 Now 57 School Disco.Com North Of Watford etc. I'm PCDJ Red, but hardly ever look at the folder structure as I use groups that are compiled from the ID3 tags. ie: 70,s, 80's, 90's, Soul, Motown, Big Band etc.
  6. You didn't say hello I went specifically looking for 3 things. I wanted to chat to the PCDJ guys about adding karaoke to my red, and they demo'd it for me and gave me all the info I needed. Will probably be buying that in the near future. I wanted to see if there were any lights that were lighter than my Stairville Earthquakes, but still give a good enough show. Was really impressed by the Littleled lights on the Prolight stand. Amazingly bright for something smaller than a lunchbox, and weighing in at 1 (yes that's a one) kg each, and expected to retail at about £55-£60. Exp
  7. If anyone wants to say hello to me, remember the picture on the left. I'll be the one outside having a fag. tongue out icon :fan: :hide:
  8. Well, the non smokers can sod off back inside where they've banned the smokers from. If they want to be outside, they should have banned smoking outside and left the smokers inside. Talk about wanting it all ways. :wall:
  9. How do you de-magnetise a laser I've heard of demagnetisers for cassettes and tape decks because they work by magnetism, but a cd works by light, so not sure what you're mate is talking about.
  10. Would you complain if you saw someone smoking where they shouldn't. I wouldn't, even if I didn't smoke. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6912900.stm :fright:
  11. Chances are most likely that although they are all NJD, the scanners won't work with the datamoons as each dmx channel will control something different on the scanners than it does on the datamoons. ie: Channel 1 on the datamoon might control the gobo selection, but on the scanner it might control the spin. Channel 2 on the datamoon might control the spin but on the scanner it might control mirror pan. etc, etc,
  12. Superb Steve, I'd be over the moon with that. My highlight of the weekend was probably going to a wedding as a guest, which I normally don't enjoy, and having almost nothing but praise for the DJ. I wasn't keen on his "that was, this is" between every track, but his choice of music was excellent. He hardly played any of the ussual stuff, and lots of what he did play I would never have thought of playing, but they went down a storm. Typical of my old brain, the only one's I can remember now are Dawn - Knock 3 Times & Frank Sinatra - Fly Me To The Moon, but you get the id
  13. For me it's the laptop for weight and convenience. A spare PSU and the usb soundcard are permanantly fitted in the rig, so for setting up all I have to do is lift the lid of the rig, plug the PSU and usb connectors into the back of the laptop and off I go. All my music is stored on the internal hard disk (which I upgraded to a bigger one), though I have a copy of it all on a usb hard disk which I use with the backup laptop.

For me, it's as up to date as I keep my music. :fright: I don't do kids parties or anything under 21, and most of my bookings are for more mature customers, so I don't need to be right up to date. Very rarely do I go out and buy an album unless it really grabs me, (Frattellis - Costello Music was the last one), so hardly ever already have any of the tracks on them.
  15. Failed too, but I don't think miserably. I now manage to go out to work without any and don't have any till I get home again, and then only 3 or 4. Went out to a wedding last night as a guest and had no trouble going out without any. Just wish I could make it 100%, but it's coming home that's the killer. :wall:
  16. Don't play in a band, but play the guitar. Have you tried here http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/
  17. Didn't even dawn on me that is was Friday the 13th. :stu: No mishaps as such. Traffic in Warrington came to a standstill for 2 hours around 5'ish, but luckily it was all Southbound, and my gig was Northbound. Realised as I was halfway there that I'd forgotten to put the backup amp in the car, so was on tenderhooks all night worrying in case the amp should fail. (it didn't). Oh yes, got to the gig (which was through an agent) and the organiser greets me and says "you do know it's a Hawian themed night". :ads: No I said. "Have you got any Hawian music with you" he asks. I replie
  18. I don't play it very often, but funnily enough it was requested on Friday night. I say requested, but it was one of those "play dancing queen mate, that'll get them all up dancing". As it happens, I didn't play it anyway, just never seemed to find the right spot within the music I was playing to drop it in. Floor killer of the night was Queen - Don't Stop Me Now, but pulled them back again with Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing.
  19. Everytime I've played it it's bombed, so never play it now unless it's requested. Think my copy is on a Woolies CD something like Disco Fever
  20. My version of Skiing In The Snow is by Wigans Ovation, wonder which was the original.
  21. I'm not sure it has ever gone away either. I think perhaps people don't ask for it very often because either they think the DJ won't know or have any, or that they will be in the minority and could be embarrased if their request is annonced and everyone walks off the dance floor. I frequently play a couple of NS tracks, particularly if I spot someone doing NS type dancing to another tune.
