  1. Nice to have you back Kev xx
  2. Tone is absolutely right. The recommended safe weight loss is between 1-2 pounds per week, and it will be easier to keep off... this will also mean that your skin will not become "saggy" or baggy" but will tone with the weight loss. If you are determined to keep the weight off, then exercise is key. Poor old mikeee! Healthy eating rather than dieting is by far better for you.... Try some of these pointers! Never eat after 7pm Put your knife and fork down between bites Dont Fry food Eat in moderation Dont snack between meals Serve your food on smaller plates Chew, chew, chew!
  3. Duelling Banjo's! Its probably worth investing in a line dancing cd.... you can pick em up reeel cheap!

  6. Dreamflight will be adding the link to their site! xx
  7. The first thing I would do is scrap your "order of play"...... Get a good rapport going with the crowd..... and take it from there!
  8. The problem with the big rigs that are above and surround the dance floor, is the H&S aspect..... We have yet to find a H&S inspector who can give us hard and fast rules - Having had ours inspected by both H&S and Fire inspectors, they have "recommended" that the legs be drilled to the floor..... not a great idea in a listed building!... and it be chained to the walls... even though the rig is totally stable! However, we have found that clients looking for this size rig tend to approach production companies rather than mobile djs.... and we have found that the need for the big rig
  9. I use a senheisser.... cant fault it.... For the kids parties, its worth considering a head set mic
  10. ....hmmmmmm baked beans you say! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif
  11. Dont Take away the music! I got the music in me! Listen to the Music! Wide eyed and legless..... possibly as a last tune!

    Awkward Age...

Have experience of... and indeed, have my very own 16 year old ben! You will probably find that it will be a very easy gig... if my daughter and her wide circle of mates are anything to go by... You will find that todays 16 year old have a broad and wide taste in music..... play everything from rnb to motown.... make sure you include classics like let me be your fantasy, and various other 90s dance tunes... they always go down well with 16 year olds... and think film sound tracks.... Im pretty sure there is a thread deep and buried in the forum which has quite a few good track to play for 16
  13. Glutten for punishment me... I use flight cases and two case logic..... I still prefer to use flight cases.. even though they are so much heavier..... Mind you its great that I only need to take the one case with me when doing kids parties.
  14. Just a post-gig report!.... I did a surprise 60th last night.....Absolutely fantastic crowd..... I dont think the venue had ever sold as much moet on one night!..... It was a real pleasure to play for these people... they basically wanted nothing but 50s/60s and rat pack stuff.... I trawled my way finding stuff I hadnt played for years..... and even managed to put in stuff like "running bear"... which I was a little unsure about playing.. but it went down a storm! Played my little game of making announcements in the style of...(air hostess, train station announcer, news reader, sales promot
  15. Happy birthday (a day late!)...... HOW OLD???
  16. Well done....... How many nappies do you reckon you will be changing in the next year!

  19. When I started dj-ing some 14 years ago, I always wanted to pack in as many lights as I could into my show.... our biggest show is a 10m squared astralite rig housing some 16 martin roboscans and various other effects... but, after a few years, I decided that I wanted a compact show where I only put in the minimum.... My basic rig that I take out is a couple of martin audio speakers, cd players, mixer, amp and usually just two twister 4s.... I can set it up in 15 mins and pack it down in 10!... As has been said, it really is only other djs who notice your show... A fantastic and huge light s
  20. Good luck young man!.... For me I can only encourage you to get yourself back up the gym...... I go 6 or seven times a week for a couple of hours and the weight has simply dropped off....... Combine the exercise with "sensible" eating and there is definately no need for fancy diets! You probably know this already, but when you go to the gym, its fun for the first couple of days... then you get a bit fed up... but carry on... cos after a couple of weeks you will be feeling like you HAVE to go because you WANT to!! You can do it... and soon we will change your name to Little Ben!! xx
  21. Doing a freebie for the local school.....always good fun... and it is for a good cause
  22. Agree with andy..... You are working with potential customers who im sure will be able to get hold of your number one way or the other... as far as the press is concerned, I very much doubt that the "organisers" will be able to specify what can or cant be written about the event.... Do a good job and hopfully the reporter will give you a rave review. There is also the "feel good factor" here... and its nice to give something back for free anyway - and I bet you will be repaid ten fold whether you are allowed to promote yourself or not. What goes around comes around!
