  1. yes , supply and demand, people when they go out these days are drinking less ( over 30s) as drinks are usually overpriced and the social aspects dont appear to be there anymore. Our working mens clubs and facilities with function rooms lie idle for most weekends of the year because as you say to justify even £100 for a dj an additional £400 in bar takings is essential to make it viable.
  2. Ive worked in sales for over 20 years. Fact - there will always be someone prepared to do it for less than you ( you will never be the cheapest) But - remember we can always be busy fools, so as I was told many years ago "volume is vanity , profit is sanity!) We all want to make it worth our while , so stick to what your worth and concentrate on getting the message over "why you are worth what you say you are worth" (your USP) instead of trying to offer everything for nothing.
  3. Thanks for the feedback some good ideas thankyou
  4. Hi Everyone, Im an old timer looking to get into Djing - especially weddings and corporate events. ........however, I dont want this to be a 5 minute wonder, and I am interested to see if I could gain some work experience, What I am really looking for is a mentor that I can accompany on gigs I am willing to transport equipment , help with set up and take down, and anything else inbetween. I am not looking for any payment but I am looking to learn. So if you cover the Gloucester/Cheltenham area , and can offer any help , please get in touch. :welcome:
