Start by getting your school to pay you to do a social for them. (uses the money to rent the gear). Much as its very hard to start in a nightclub at the age of 16, don't give up hope. I started working in a nightclub at the age of 17, but I was a lighting tech. Even tho I wanted to be a dj, it was a step in the right direction and I was able to learn of the djs that worked there. Now I have my own concert system and work as a dj in a nightclub at the age of 19 and I'm not from a rich family, just work hard for what I want. So I would look at getting work in a club, aka glassie, bar tende

Can I say a big thing everyone over looks is 'o-zone gas'. Strobe lights produce a toxic gas if run for a long period of time, more noticable in smaller venues. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/huh.gif

One of my cdjs (1000mk2) stopped spinning cds oneday, it was about 3mths old. Had it looked at and a piece of dust had gotten into a micro-swtich, which caused the problem..... There a highly tuned piece of kit, but its scary to know a piece of dust can bring them down....

Yeah its the same guys that were behind Turbosound, before it was sold. There pricey but the quality is un-matchable. But much as you and I would notice the quality differnce, would the average punter? and would they pay the extra money. I have a Martin Audio Wavefront Sys and much as it is very nice sounding and very powerful not every person is willing to pay the money to rent it.

18inchs can handle more power, but heres a tip for a sub of any size, sit them aganist a wall. Subs shoot just as much force out the back of the bin as the front. Sitting them aganist a wall will allow that lost force to be revrbarted back at the audiance. Hope that makes sense...... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif
