  1. Is there any such thing as a Dj Diary. One that has Fridays and Saturdays bigger than the rest of the week. (It's usually the other way round!!)
  2. I think it depends where you are in the country. I used it and got next to nothing back. I'm NW England. Most of our internet enquiries come from Google etc.
  3. Mastermix Flashback 1 is my favorite, it stars off with relatively chilled out music, and gets a bit uptempo later, as the guests are munching away. You find they'll sing to it, dance to it, tap their fit to it etc. It seem to keep them 'up there' http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif
  4. I once set up early knowing a band where going to be there, so I thought I'd get in there first, and when I can back at night the band had moved all my gear!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif You can guess how I reacted as they had basically dragged everything, wires and all into a complete mess, and to add insult to injury, they had took my speakers off my stands, and put their big massive heavy ones on that bent the legs. They got a bill, and they paid after admitting what they had done (i took pictures as evidence) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/mad.gif
  5. What a good idea from kazzachi !!!!!!!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/toot.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/beer.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/toot.gif
  6. So does anyone know where I can get an upright mirror ball from ?
  7. Thanks for that offer, I'll have a think.... It was really a mirror ball I wanted though, what about those half ones, any ideas where I can get them from?
  8. Does anyone know where I can get an upright mirror ball from. One that can sit on a table, or on top of a speaker etc, not one that has to hang? Can't be one of the small novelty ones . (it's for my 70's show!!)
  9. Hi, I've tried Yell.com, Thomweb, Thomson Local, Local paper, I once even tried an advert in our local Gala Bingo !!!! Yellow Pages works best for me in the advertising stakes. The website brings a steady flow of enquiries but usually through google, msn searches etc. I sponsored a kids football team last year and got all the birthdays, presentation nights, and the family related gigs, that was a good un !!!!! The number one though as you all know is word of mouth, nearly always guaranteed to turn an enquiry into a booking. Hotel recommends are good, and of course when they just b
  10. Ha That's true !! Do you not find sometimes that there is enough smoke from cigarettes to give you enough for your effects anyway? I can see a new topic on the way.................... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  11. So what would be the best snow machine to buy?
  12. Had about 40 of these type of emails coming through !!!! cheers for the warning........
  13. Fair enough ! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif
  14. Do Haze machines set off smoke detectors? Also, what is the argument on smoke detectors as some people say you are ok to switch them off in a room that has people in as the people act as the detectors, others say that you can knock one or two off, and obviously some people say that they cannot be switched off at all I would appreciate your views, I think knocking a couple off if possible is a compromise because you can get covers for them.
