  2. Thats what I like about this place, there is always someone who is more knowledgable, and they are always happy to help http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif Many thanks for the time and tips Ade
  3. Well thats started the old grey matter thinking !!!!! Am I right in saying that a bank of 4 scanners could be addressed in 2 pairs of 2 and that you only need to program one light from each pair, and the second light will follow ????? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/stupid.gif and that in a DMX chain of lights each one has its own address except the ones you want to do the same, and they would have the same address regardless of location on that chain ????? Sorry if I seem vague, but I am only just getting used to DMX stuff, and spent ages trying to get 4 scanners to play t
  4. I know I have seen somewhere on a mastermix or a dmc, there is a remix of the music from Dirty Dancing, I ahve done a search and cant find anything. Any Help guys http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif
  5. played a village hall who had one fitted because of the neighbours, small light of the same design as the rest of the ceiling lights!!!!!! didnt get told about it, didnt see it until.......oops wheres the power gone http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/188.gif but as was pointed out further up this thread, the noise from the floor singing "sweet caroline" damm well triggered it as well later on http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif they are a problem of that there is no doubt, we spent the rest of the night watching the light flickering red and working the masters to try
  6. Hi Matt, I am just getting my head around this as well, the way I see it is as follows........ 30 banks of 8 programmable secnes?....what this means is that you have banks 1 to 30, in each bank you can store 8 scenes under buttons 1 to 8...hence 240 scenes!!! A scene is a snapshot of the position of your lights. so.... if you had 2 scanners on red and pointing at the ceiling showing a hand gobo, that is one scene and would be stored in number one positon of the first bank of 8. If you now changed the position of the scanners to show green gobos on the floor area, that would

  9. Many Thanks for the offer NiM but I am in Essex on the Suffolk border so bloody miles away....lol I think from what I have seen from the Shuvit manual , it explains it better than any I have ever seen, amking scenes and linking them to makes chases, so maybe I will plump for that unit as its cheap as well. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif
  10. Hey NiM, sounds like a good deal, found it on there site, amazing cost. so the next question is....how easy was it to learn to programm it ??? I have tried a chauvet in the past and got very http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/censored2.gif with it...lol I looked at the dmx 50 again from Chauvet and the manual seemed to make sense, any advice appreciated guys :)
  11. Well I have looked at the DMX 50 as was suggested and it seems fairly straight forward to program, having looked at some of the other unit (DMX BABY, DMX 1440) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif Maybe there is someone out there in discoland who is selling a DMX controller much cheapness.. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif
  12. ok....I have decided after much g http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wallbash.gif nawing of nails to splash out and get a DMX controller to try to organise the lighting side of our rig. I have spent ages reading about DMX and the types of controllers and have seen plenty of pics of the various types. Our rig consists of 2 x Panthers 2 x Jaguars 2 x Spot Knights 2 x Intimidators and at the moment its death by CA6 Controllers !!!!! My questions are these......... 1..Which of the cheaper end controllers are easy to use ? (Baby Transencion, stairville etc) 2..What when I get
  13. Anyone worked at the Expanse Hotel Bridlington perchance ?????
  14. Just a quick add on to this thread......If you deal with youngsters in conjunction with different organisations, you will need to be CRB checked for each. I was CRB checked for working as a driver for emergency out of hours doctors service, and that check is not acceptable for use with other organisations, so when I started instructing for the Fire Service with young adults, I had to do another check. They are looking into having a passport type book where you just get stamped by the required authority instead of having to keep applying. I have collegues who have got 5 CRB`s as they deal wi
