  1. I see.. hmm i dont think i have the skills to whip up my own one ... would i be able to use an xlr to jack lead then add on an xlr to 5pin dmx converter? or would that not work?
  2. Thanks I'm looking into the models you mentioned. Also my datamoon has the newer 5 pin input/output is this still linkable to the older jack inputs?
  3. Thanks for your comments, but would I still need a set of scanners if i bought another datamoon? Also do you tend to keep all of your lights on throughout the night or switch between them? As I am only using sound to light not sure how i would be able to switch?
  4. Thanks for your advice that is really helpful as I don't yet understand what is a suitable brightness for my needs. If it's ok could you check out these links and let me know if these lights would be good to complete my set up? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181109103111?ssP...984.m1438.l2649 and two of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181037810785?ssP...K:MEWAX:IT& _trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Plus two stands and I will look to add another data moon when I have the funds. Also some advice on where to position and point the lights would be fantastic if you have the time?
  5. Thanks for your help I know that all this is down to personal taste really... I've just seen these on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130842606316?ssP...984.m1438.l2649 would these be good as a pair at either end of my bar? Or are they not a great product, they are a reasonable price.
  6. Ah ok thanks . I've looked at a few haze machines and it seems they are rather more expensive than the smoke machines so I might just stick to getting a smoke machine.
  7. No I haven't what is the difference ? OK cool I guess the gigs are going to vary so something that suits most would be good. Do I need a DMX controller to run a master and slave? I'm currently running them on sound to light.
  8. Thanks for all your help guys but I went for the Behringers in the end. I look forward to trying them out when I dj on the 29th. I have bought a few lights but am wondering what else to get to complete my first lighting rig. I currently have NJD Data moon Kam Star Cluster and am thinking of getting a smoke machine and some scanners is there anything else I should be looking to get ? Thanks
  9. ok thanks for your help... regardless of the make and model do you think this size speaker would meet my requirements for the size venue i mentioned?
  10. Thanks though it's quite likely I am going to have to purchase the speakers over the net to compare the sound might not be a possibility. Would you say Alto are better compared to Behringer? They seem a similar price.
  11. Hi... Im hoping to get my own DJ set up together soon so this maybe my first of many posts. I have DJ'd at clubs before with their own sound system but now I would like to go it alone. I use Ableton Live and would ideally like to use active speakers as it saves using an amp. I will be playing in a room around 20 by 20 metres to possibly 200 people. I'm looking at the Behringer Eurolive B215D 15" Active Speaker. Any views on if this would be a suitable model to buy? Many Thanks
