Excellent disco for me - 21st Birthday in Devon so miles away - and one that could have gone on a lot longer. However, an adventure to say the least. Got stuck in the mud twice!! First time, a tractor was right behind me so that was easy (that was on the way). Second time was on location. Had to reverse down a long track and slipped into mud. A combination of the dark, mass amount of rain and me just not being able to see anything. Called RAC and they said "oh no, we can't do that. Call back in the morning". Thanks, I'm only 40 miles away from home. In the end, t

Is the link underlined, ie/ an actual hyperlink? Are these emails you receive in plain text or HTML?

Indeed! Cheers all. Re/ the era etc...its a general mix of all eras and styles.

Nearly all of this is tat. Not such a big thing anymore...I don't care as such. Wish the X Factor would :cense: off forever.

Music spec. for an upcoming gig of mine is "Swing, Soul & Rock 'N' Roll". Generally, I'm OK but could do with some lists of acts/tracks to help me out a but. Thanks all.

Friday - breakfast show on one radio station + a couple of shows to record, 5 hour afternoon show on another (usual 'day' job now). Hopefully out myself in the evening. Saturday - Wedding at a very nice venue 5 mins down the road. Sunday - early radio work All pretty much filled for me which is nice. Song to play - Steve Miller Band - Jungle Love (a rocker...which I actually don't have on CD!)

Sounds really good.

Only £10 - why?

Don't sell your old amp...unless you have three. Useful as a backup..take it to all gigs..
-
Exactly. I would have charged a bit less for the event - being a charity function but £115 is not bad.

Who is your ISP, Andy? Using Virgin Media here and hardly any mail all day..

Apologies, deejaymitch, didn't realise that was not aimed at me! :-)

Thanks again for the email and chat on the 'phone again, Chris.

It wasn't though - know the competion well to beat them by quoting £5 less - makes a difference and all is well. Must add - small local area - haven't had any new DJs start up around here in years and years. In fact, one retired a year or so back (for the second time!). :-) Not 'knocking' anyone - I would say it plain and simple if I was. In the end, I am happy with my pricing and my cutomers seem happy to. End of story. Anyway, this isn't an OTronics price thread! I would happily work Xmas Day for £450.

Didn't say that...said it was just another day BUT was a holiday. £450 is more than I usually charge, so will be making more. Yes, charge less than £37 per hour. Yes, there will be people who can charge more but there are very few around here. There is not the market for it - I know that and do not think it. Having lived here for over 21 years, I know what the competition charges - and some of it is very good competition I might add. To put in perspective - I got an call about a month back for an 18th Birthday party. Quoted less than what I know other discos aro

Yes I was deadly serious about charging £450. Its just another day, although one which is a holiday and one which people like to spend time with their family (which I do I might add). No, I don't charge £37 whatever normally - there isn't the market for that around here and I know the market well. Why the such high prices? You are doing the same job just on a holiday.

Professional on the 'phone and saw them today. All good.

Was just radio work for me this morning.

Anyone played here? Looks nice..doing a New Year party there. It's in Brockenhurst, Hampshire (New Forest area).

Anyone dealt with this Agency, based in Mere (only around 10 miles away from me)? Maybe one of the chaps is a member on here.. Got two bookings from them and only spoken to them on the 'phone a few times but I must say I'm impressed already. Going to see them to drop off some contracts tomorrow. Web link

If local, £450. More if had to travel.

You get what you pay for Although these do cost a few £££ so would expect simple things like this to work. Always :cense: frustrating.
