    Now 58

The Now albums are great and I always get them these days. I have some of those tracks but not all, if only they could come out earlier
  5. I haven't had it requested yet but maybe one day....
  6. Many gigs I do are "one off's" if you know what I mean but then there is a lot of repeat clients and schools etc. I'd always charge for travelling (if I could drive (just turned 17!)) and would add around 25p per mile. Furthest I've gone is Glastonbury (I live in West Wilts) although one in Bath is coming up
  7. Yeah, it would be helpful if I did that C.S!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/whistling.gif I will have been going for 5 years this December and would say I have done about 60 events in that time.
  8. What are you going to buy/invest in next to improve your disco apart from CD's/music. A Gobo will be coming my way later this year! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/beer.gif
  9. Tonight's disco was pretty good - the second and last one for this weekend. Clients pleased, will recommend me etc and got a £5 tip - every littl helps! Will pay off my insurance and upcoming PAT testing! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/071.gif Next one is a freebie for family in Bath on Friday.
  10. Got back from a childern's party not so long ago. All was well until I discovered on of my smaller lights was covered by the black cloth! I use a disco ball and a cloth to cover the wires! Oops. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Disco was very good overall
  11. "I'm Not In Love"!! - 10CC
  12. I would try to make space(!!!) in the car, or then go for the taxi option. Might as well spend a bit rather than risk it
  13. Does anyone out there take a fire extinguisher with them just in case??!!!!!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif I know the venue must have them du to H & S but is it worth it? You never know!
  14. If anyone has an event coming up at the Unity Club in Street, then you're in for a treat! They have their own lighting system (nothing major) but its great. There is loads of space and a big bar! I did a gig there a month or so ago and its the bets venue I've ever been in. Disco itself wasn't bad either. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/beer.gif

    Licences

Right, I know this topic has been posted before ( http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/sleep1.gif ) but do us DJ's need any licences at all (PRS etc)? All I ever do are invite-only events so does that mean no licence needed? And what about school discos? Sorry it comes up again but I need to know! Cheers

    Music Licences

OK, I have read so much about licences but no simple and to the point explanation. Do Mobile DJ's need: PPL PRS MCPS or any other (PEL?). I know somewhere I read that if the event is private then no licence is required and all of my events are private. But what about school discos? Anyone who goes to that school can come along, so it is not strictly "invite-only". Are licences down to the venue? Is there a booklet out there from PPL or someone? Thanks all. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif
