  2. That is the conclusion I came to as well. They did make a BIG point of asking me to play nothing with swearing in it, so I wondered if there were any other things I need to be aware of.
  3. I am doing a wedding for a couple who are Jehovas witnesses tomorrow. Anyone got any advice? Should I do anything any different to usual?

  7. OK, I went back yesterday, got a great demo from Gary. As a result, I now will add the dn-x1500 to my immediate wish list, 2 x dn-s1000 to my 'next year' wish list for home/backup/my daughter. Just need to sell the Pioneer DJM600 first, but will keep the CDJ1000s. Thanks Gary http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/goodjob.gif I am also going to buy either a Peavey Grabber or RedSound Soundbite in the next day or two...Again, Gary showed me a great way of integrating this with the assignable booth output. Nice!

    Minder theme

OK, Saturdays gig was fantastic. Start at 10, finish at 12:20, £300 http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif , but that crowd had a request which surprised me a lot. They asked for Woman by JLennon (usual slow) as a first dance then the theme tune from Minder- I could be so good for you - Dennis Waterman as a follow up! This was a BOMB! Played it again at the end, same huge reaction. I think the whole of Berkshire must have heard this lot singing the chorus. Have I missed a minder revival or something? Or was it just something that particular crowd were into?

  18. Hi all, sorry I didn't get a chance to meet up, I did bump into a few DJu members though. Well, I thought it was a worthwile journey. I spent a large amount of time getting hands on and trying new kit. I found the Technics cd thing dreadful having spent a good 15mins playing - looks great, but very cramped controls, 'digitized' sound when changing pitch. The vestax single cd player was very good layout wise, but the 'jog' wheel was not great. Attached to the Tascam vinyl interface thing, it was very good. The vestax mixers seem improved this year. Nothing very new at pioneer, s
  19. Hmmm, SEDA are doing something on those lines alledgedly on 24th October somewhere in deepest Kent. As I am no longer involved, I have no idea if it is still going on or not. Do a search for sedashow... SEDAs next meeting is in Maidstone on 19th Sept if you want to find out. In my experience, everyone is initially up for it, then when you start mentioning the word budget, everyone goes silent. Personally, I would really welcome this sort of thing. I remember going to a TVDJA show many years ago at Kempton park (I think), was really interesting and useful. However, I wonder if the

  22. I have a DN-D4000 which I use for the second show if I am working already. Great little box, but I notice something annoying: If I burn a MP3 data cd full of tracks, the cueing is very innacurate and non-precise. I know there are limitations such as no hot starts or loops when the DN-D4000 is in MP3 mode. Is this part of those limitations? The DN-D4000 works perfectly in audio CD mode.
  23. Class!! A few more questions: Is tobacco bad for you? How about organic food? And work?
