  1. Always USE them, I use post-it notes, when they are filled in, they stick to the wall/picture/window behind me. They are essential to me as I am DJ Dory!
  2. Poor Chris and Gary, what a nightmare. I can't wait for PARTYCHRIS to stick his weekend update in, you will love it!! I will remind him in a mo... ME: Friday: Beautiful venue in Richmond park, Roehampton for a wedding, was very hot, super party! Saturday: Marquee wedding in a school in Kent which should remain nameless as this post could be seen by search engines. Well, first of all, the B&G gave me 5 pages or requests a few weeks ago http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif but looking at the requests, they were all brilliant, no cheese, just decent dance music in
  3. Sounds interesting, my policy is up for renewal in March 2005...

Are you allowed an MP3 CD with 150 tracks? If so, I would make a compilation. If not, I would bring Channel 4s History of House double CD. QUOTE ill bring the Masters at work remixes double cd for some classy dance music Marky, I thought you said Vinyl forever?!!! Nice choice.
  5. QUOTE Is C&W the new music?? NO! It is the music of the devil, without a doubt! You were just unlucky http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

  7. Omega MV6 Estate 3.2, loads of room for basic rig or club work and roadie, goes like stink even fully loaded Hired transit for full rig, also makes good changing room when I have to don a Tux!

  10. itunes, works on Apple Mac OR Micro$oft XP, you can then export to exell
  11. Only one thing to play after groove is in the heart. It will and does go down a storm: Baby D - Let me be your fantasy Not B52s - save it for when you clear the floor or near the end of the night!
  12. Ahh, well now you should be using Pioneer CDJ1000 CD turntables. - Teehee Gary, these are fascinating figures. I have had my CDJ1000s for two years now and I do occasionally get 12" vinyl when I cannot source a promo on CD. I will then burn it straight to CD so I can use the advanced features on the CDJs. All my 'vinyl forever' buddies are notably changing their tunes now they have played with my CDJ1000 and PARTYCHRIS's DN-S5000 cd players.
  13. None of the above - RedSound Soundbyte (new version of cyloops) and a dance music production training course.
  14. Friday, night off.... zzzzz Saturday: big wedding locally, went very well. Sunday: went to Ambient festival in Guidford. Nice day, kids loved it. Bring on this weekend, B&G have given me 6 sheets of exell spreadsheet music lists TO PLAY. Deep Joy!
  15. Friday - Night off from the club Saturday - the club wanted to hire my cdj1000 cd players as Cream are doing the night! Said NOPE as I am doing a very big wedding in a very big venue locally. Sunday - going to the ambient picnic in Guildford with mates, family etc... Looks like good fun: http://www.ambientpicnic.co.uk/ Monday - back to work d'oh
  16. I don't like M3 either, but it's near work!
  17. Woohoo, make it a weekday, keep it local to M3!!!!
  18. No headphones - must be jukebox mode! I cue everything, make sure all the levels are correct, at least match BPMs if it is close, and mix if it is possible (ie correct phrasing). The customers usually love this. Occasionally you can tease them with the next track by dropping a snippet every 4 bars for a short mo. on the previous song. This elevates the anticipation, and when you drop the next tune, they give a good cheer. I can't work properly without headphones!
  19. Anyone got cracked MDRV-700 headphones? I heard a rumour that Sony will replace these out of warranty. Any success? Cheers, Brian
  20. Hey Marc, I was thinking of getting a couple of those retro 1210s out as well!!! And of course one of those lovely 4 spot boxes and a FAL light column. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
  21. Phew, simple matter then. OK, so we need a national body to take this on then? Such as NADJ, SEDA, or the newly formed DJA?
  22. QUOTE (Softoptions @ Jul 26 2004, 01:59 PM) One song that I think people will be asking for is the Jennifer Saunders version of Holding Out for A Hero from Shrek 2. It is great and she is a far better singer than you would imagine. Brilliant film too. I thought Lipps inc - funky town may make a comeback. I already had someone ask for it yesterday. Brill film.

  25. Roller coaster weekend for me... Tuesday, got an email from MOS/Data records A&R to come & talk, went Friday daytime, got a load of Promos to review, some great stuff there for the next few months.. Friday evening, wedding for 200 in Bury, Sussex. Great party, guests all up for a good time. Saturday, nightclub in Margate absolutely packed. Brilliant party night, played cheese, R&B, hip-hop, house. Went very well indeed. Played some of the new DATA promos to good reactions. Got home 4am buzzing Sunday, wedding in Bookham, Surrey.
