  3. hi all, next weekend i have been booked to dj at a local young farmers event, does anyone have any experiance of such events, they have been very specific about music but vague aswell, lol they said they dopnt want anything very "hardcore" and they dont want anything slow and they do want some rock. but they wouldnt give me any requests in advance http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/signdammit.gif i just wondered what music you would play for young farmers, perhaps you could give me a few examples of music that should work well, i know that they will want combine harvester, 500 mi
  4. hi all, just a quicky, does anyone play "PJ and duncans" (ant and dec) "lets get ready to rumble" cos i discovered the single a few weeks ago in a box of cds i bought from a carboot sale the other week and i thought it might be worth a play. well since then i have played it 3 times at an 18th birthday, a local theatre groups aftershow party and in a local pub and everyone loved it, real crowd pleaser especially for the younger people. Has anyone else used this tune in their set recently?? cheers james

  6. hi all, was out at the weekend and i heard a tune that would be great for any type of young persons/teen event. chavs/town people loved it and the country folk cos its kinda amusin, the club went wild! basically it was scooters logical song but with a voice over (sounded kinda like neil morrisey). it started off with someone going through the dance moves over a looped beginning of the tune (while this was happening the dj visualised / did them) the "dance moves" were, feed the pidgeon feed the horse rodger the hippo spank the monkey single doorbell double doorbell crystal ball
  7. hi again, just found a link to a sample of this tune, so you can all see what you think, http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF175296-01-01-06.mp3 this just samples the rap section, but if you hear the full version then the original sweet home alabamma is sung by lynnard skynnard aswell. its great check it out http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif . im lovin it
  8. hi all, i have id'd this tune but i am having real problems finding a cd with this mix on, This tune samples: lynnard skynnard - sweet home alabamma and: Nelly - country grammar the mash up i heard was by: Mei-Lwun and its called: "Sweet Home Country Grammar" If anyone knows of a cd with this tune on, could you please post it on here so i can buy it, cos this tune is seriously hot. it works amazingly well in the club i go to. everyone from 18-30 goes crazy for it! cheers everyone, james
  9. hi all, just thought i would tell you all that peavey are soon to release their new ul range of speakers, They are exactly the same spec / model no's as the ul series we all know. But they have changed the finish of the cabs to a durable black paint effect which i think will look great and be much easier to maintainn than the old carpet covered cabs. also more beer-spillage friendly i guess! In my opinion these are what the ul range should have been like from day one, Great improvement, thumbs up to peavey http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif check this link to
  10. hi all, i was out last night in a club and the dj played a tune which was awsum, it was the backing/music from sweet home alabama with a phat beat and someone was rapping over it (sounded kinda like 50 cent). at the end of the tune the normal sweet home alabama was sung by the original arist aswell. i just wondered if anyone could id this tune please?? cheers, james http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif

  12. hi ads, thanks for your reply, but it wasnt "black box, ride on time". its kinda deeper than that - i think ride on time is cheesy, lol (if you know wot i mean), anyone else got any ideas?? cheers, james
  13. Hi, over the weekend i was a punter at an old school night and a tune came on which i absolutley loved. but i dont know what it was http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif . so i just wondered if you lot could help me out at all, now i believe the following lyrics are in the song. "gotta get up, gotta get to it" - male vocals (i think, any of the words may be wrong) i think it had female vocals in aswell maybe saying "fresh" - dont go by this too much now this tune really kicked on and i can remember that it had a great breakdown with like a crazy drum beat going on
  14. wow!, i think you guies have cracked it! i obviously had many, many beers because the words i remembered were totally wrong! i really dont know how you got it, cheers partychris, steve and everyone else who helped on this. the dancin divas mix is what i heard, its a brilliant tune!! thanks again, dj jim http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

  16. hi all, last nite i had a nite off and went to a funky house / old school nite. well basically i got quite drunk and i remember a tune that made everyone go wild. now it was a dance tune but the lyrics sounded familliar (dont they all http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif ). well basically i want to know what it was. now i think the following lyrics were in it: " all i need/want is you and my love is true" - any of these words may be wrong! "sweetest family" - this was said in teh lyrics and thats all i can remeember. it would be brilliant if someone could id this t
  17. how about the behringer ep-2500 amp? great spec and only costs £200 i have been running 2x of these for 5 months driving 2x peavey ul-115 bass bins and ul-15 tops. they sound great and i have never had any problems with them. in fact i have just bought 2x more because i am doubling up my rig. i believe they are a copy/replica of the QSC 2450 but less than half the price. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif i have also used audiohead amps http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/oops.gif (ah 2400 and ah 1400) in the past which i have found to be cheap and unreliable a
  18. hi all, i am using 4x behringer (!) ep-2500 amps and they have no link/slave feature. i have been running just 2 before, which was easy, but now i am doubling up my rig i need to connect the other 2 amps. somehow. will it be ok to just use a y type lead between my crossover and amps then??
  19. Hi all, i would like to know if there is an easy way / any way of connecting 4x amps together without putting them into parrallell operation. i am using a crossover which outputs 4x xlr channels, 2x mid/high for tops L/R and 2x for bass bins L/R. the amps that i have do not include any kind of daisy chaining function to tag the other amps onto. so i just wondered what i need to expand my 4x xlr outputs into 8 for all my amps correctly. i have seen patch bays ets, but i would like to try and do this using the xlrs if anyone knows of a patch bay type device that will do this, could you tell me w

  21. Hi all, i have have some peavey ul-115's for about 6 months and i would now like to add some bass bins to my rig, but i cannot decide which to buy, i fancy some 18" ones really like the ul - 118s which are 800w rms each but there are also the ul-215's which are 1000w rms and have twin 15" drivers. which ones do you think will sound best?? 1x 18" or 2 x 15"??. thanks, james http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/huh.gif
  22. hi all, i have just been offered 4x peavey st 15 speakers for a very low price http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif and i am just wondering how i could amp them up to run either 2x speakers or 4x speakers at once. the speaker specs are 150w RMS @ 8 ohms per cab ( i know this is not great but i will be using them mailny for vocal reinforecment in a large hall only) So i understand that i will need at 150w x 2 rms @ 8 ohms amp to run 1 pair but if i want to run all 4 (2 per channel) what will happen to the ohms and wattage. Someone told me that of i connect 2 of
  23. hi all, i was in my car earlier listening to galaxy and they played an absoultley brilliant tune, but i cannot find out what it was. all i know is that it samples bostons classic "more than a feeling". and features someone singing the line "i cant get over this feeling" (sounds like that anyway) the tune is new i believe (hed kandi was mentioned after the tune, but i dont think this was anything to do with the tune) if anyone can tell me what this tune is, it wouls be great because i think its brilliant! cheers, james
