  1. Thanks for your suggestions. Friend has organised people carrier to take me and gear home at end of the night so I can still have a few drinks. Problem hopefully diverted, thanks for help.
  2. Hi there, Not been on in ages as I have stopped Djing unfortunatley due to relocation. I have been asked to take my equipment to a friends 40th, unfortunatley I can't leave the stuff there overnight and was wondering if anyone had any ideas how I could still DJ ( to very specific Rock list) but with equipment I can carry to a nearby hotel. It is a smallish event in a small bar with about 60 people. I was thinking of getting one of the numark idj mixers and the Bose PC speaker type things but I am not sure the speakers would be load enough. Any suggestions great. Leo
  3. Friday - had unexpected child free night so popped down to the GP. Left around 11.30 to escort two very drunk girls home. Saturday - Great night, good crowd! One of those nights when 3 hours doesn't seem enough.
  4. How very dare you!!! Karaoke is the best
  5. Have got a night off, yeah! I am heading down to Brighton with a friend this Friday, starting of with Karaoke on the pier then off to a club. Anybody playing down that way? Or anybody around that might want to meet up?
  6. Another 'fun' night at the G.P. :scared: Everything is going great, good crowd, good music. Then woman gets a stripper for her 40th. So everyone crowds round. Me personally I would not want a stripper that expects me to take part! He was getting her head and putting it under a cloth beside his nether regions! I didn't think it was very pleasant, not sure if she minded, but her husband did. There was a bit of a commotion away from all this and glasses were broke. Then shortly afterwards the hubby came back to their table which was just by me, threw a glass very hard in the c
  7. Well it did end in tears last night. Was great night up until I was saying safe journey home etc. when one of the boys from one group went over and started punching the :poo: out of a boy from the other group. Then of course others join in, people try to break it up. The bouncers turned up, took them out eventually. I made an exit throught the back as I was sure it would still be kicking off out the front. When I got to my car I could still hear the girls and boys screaming and lots of banging from things getting broken. When I plucked up the courage to drive past the police were
  8. Having a bit of a stressfull time at day job, trying to stop them making me redundant! So not be on here much. Last night at the G.P. was not that great. Had chinese Elvis for first hour. Mainly women of a certain age (nearly mine!) saying they were too old for songs like Put your hands up for detroit! V boring night from my point of view had to stick to v dull music most of the night. Managed to drive them all off by 12.30 with only a few good stagglers who had danced to everything I put on. Luckily played Bobby Brown 2 can play that game, went down well. Supposed t
  9. Two good nights at the G.P. Fri & Sat both really busy. Lots of youngsters in, lots of requests which kept me busy. Nothing overly eventful happened. After a very stressfull week at work with threat of redundancy I was glad they were good crowds. I might be doing this full time soon, if things don't improve.
  10. A good night at the G.P. for me. Very busy but slow starter. Had a female stripper at one point which brought the dancefloor to a halt. Then later on I evened it up by getting one of the blokes there to strip for a girl having her hen night. Had the longest conga ever with I think nearly all 180 people in it! Ended up playing late with just one more last song lasting about 4 songs. All in all a good fun night.
  11. Would love to meet up with you but I work Thursday evenings with my Day job, sorry
  12. NYE for me started off a bit of a mare and ended the same. Went to start the music around 10.30 as most people were finished eating. The DJ booth was in a bit of caos with the headphones not working (sorted problem), the microphone had dissapeared :fear: , bit crucial for NYE, luckily I had taken another one with me as the one there was mine, CD's not where they normally are. Anyway got the music up and running, marked all the quizes and sorted through the request slips. Dancefloor boggying away then the balloons in the net start to get lower and lower with still about 20 mins t
  13. Tuesday - Struggled to get people up and dancing tough night. Wednesday - Good night, normal crowd, loads of requests. Thurday - Another awful night. Took a whole hour before I got more than 10 people on the floor and even from then on it was hit and miss until 12 then all the men were up for the last hour. I would say men were in the majority last night and they usually take a while to get going. Should have been a good night but 120 cancelled 2 weeks ago so was only just over 100. Last night tonight :bouncy: Can't wait to have hopefully a whole week off!!! My lungs and n
  14. Usual Mon-Friday from me at the G.P. Yesterday night started a little early as it was a local college. we ended up finishing early as well as they were a little rowdy and not really interested in dancing much, just drinking. Easy money for me though
