  1. It would be imposible to stream live from a venue... because you would need a high speed internet, a web cam, pc and all the connectors, plus you would need some expensive software... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif If you film your disco, or make a short movie. then place a link on your site to the downloadable file which will play live in XP and 2K, but download in 98 or ME... Because of this, do what Wahee said and add the text. It would also be adviseable to say how big the actual file is. ANd by NO means, have the file automatically opening, as this will slow
  2. With the move to digital cameras, taking pictures of your lights is easier than ever before. If you know a little about Photography, then you will know that there are various speeds of film, and longer exposure times for darker venues, faster shutter times for moving items. So with little knowledge you should be able to use a digital camera to get some very good effects and lighting pictures, Using smoke is a benefit as it does show the effect the lights give. Here are a few tips that should work for your Digital camera. I have 2 digital cameras, one cost £250 and the other £1500, Apa
  3. Outlook includes its own filters and rules. In express: Click tools, Message Rules, mail... Then create a rule with the keywords you want to stop, tell Outlook what to do with them i.e. send to deleted items or a Junk Folder, and then you will never see them in the inbox again. I also recomend empting the deleted items on exit, This is done from Tools, options, cick on the "maintenance" and put a tick in the "Empty messages from the Deleted items folder on exit" Works for me, although you may need to set up a couple of rules to ensure all junk is removed. Hope this helps htt

  5. Being another IT Guru in this forum i too recomend Lavasoft's AdAware, and Microsoft's AntiSpyware. Both are very good but the MS version looks after far more with-in windows. It will also constantly monitor the registery for any virus and spy hacks. As for virus programs, there are so many to choose from that i have listed all the free online scans that are worth using... F Secure - Online scanner McAfee - FreeScan Trend Micro's - HouseCall I personally use McAfee Enterprise, because i dont like the Nortons update process nor the fact that they dont seem to update there DAT files a

  11. You do get what you pay for... The Powerdrive stands are the big heavy ones... The Mobil Tech are Heavy (if your a wimp http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif ) but are smaller and fit into less space ( Plus they are stronger and better built than the PowerDrive) Look at the SP2 TA's i have 4 and may be buying some more http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/cool.gif I have had a pait of Powerdrive ones, which i have since got rid off as the mobile tech are just so much better. They have a better locking mechanism,
  12. XP Pro is fine, but it needs to be activated (if you wanna stay legal) XP Corporate Edition is the one to find, It doesn't need to be activated and never needs the internet... As for Anti Spyware, goto Miscrsoft and download it.. its free NOW !!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif
  13. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif Nice review, Basically you are looking for a rating of IP65 or IP68 Or better, but since these are the most common, then you will find it hard to find any equipment which excedes thiese ratings... Especially disco lights... But heres an idea.... Back when disco lighting was nothing more that a few screens and Fuzz lights (for those of you whom cant remember these... they were fresh from the roof of some unsuspecting emergency vehicle http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif -dont try that at home - or ever!) and the o

  15. I have Flash on my entry page but not as the page... I have a front page with my search content and meta tags etc... then my logo with a scanning light which is flash, then the html entry and a javascript entry button. I have found that users with XP cannot always enter sites with Javascript as java is NOT part of XP and has to be loaded seperatly... But by supplying an alternate entry point means that the "Skip intro" is almost the same thing. Not only that, but as my entry page contains all my bot data, any links found on the search engines always refer to my main page, as so peopl
  16. Who cares??? There are many different types of DJ, and each one is different. I have a club DJ and an older DJ, and i am a party DJ.... So between us we can cover all events. The club DJ is also a Singer/Guitarist and Drummer and so is ideal for the Karaoke too http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif But the Peter Kay type of DJ does exist !!! I know of a couple !!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif
  17. QUOTE but I guess the OEM version comes without the bells and whistles packaging and can be sold with the PC. Where-as the retail version comes boxed and has the manuals and colourful POS Packaging Chris, Got it in one !!! Retail is exactly that. A reseller like PCWorld will buy in a pretty box with manuals, cd, code, registration card etc... where as a company like mine, we buy an OEM version of the software - just a CD and a sheet of licence stickers then we can load the same CD onto all the pc's we build, we then stick on a sticker, create a restore CD and sell the pc AS-IS... OEM just
  18. Well i run a Toyota 4runner which is a 4x4 estate and ideal for discos in fields! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif I use a box trailer when i need more space... I Have a VW Transporter with 6 seats and a towbar, so i can get my full show and the band with gear in to the van and trailer (with the trussing on the roof!!) And i had a VW Touran 1.9 tdi which was a fantastic vehicle! when the seats were removed, i got what i could in the truck in where the back seats were, then got my subs, and some more lights in the boot of the touran!!! Heres something NO-ONE has
  19. Ringing an 0870 number is only more expensive if the company is near you in your BT local area. If your calling from southampton to a company in glasgow.. the 0870 number is cheaper. ... but an 0845 number is the cheapest way for your customers! Ads... the site is anti 0870 numbers... but its sponsor supplies them !!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/stupid.gif hows that work then???? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif
  20. QUOTE OH and to Madgutts - you really need to match your drivers to your cabs rather than just sticking any old driver. The reason why Turbosound are so good is the boxes plus having a very strong driver which is suited to that kind of cab (and they had them custom built to their spec by PD). A horn driver in a reflex box will perform worse than a lower rated driver that has characteristics suited to BR type cabs. If you want to let me know which PD drivers you have and the size of your cabs and ports i can tell you how to modify the ports to tune for the drivers. Already way ahead of you.
  21. Like i said, PD are one of if not the best cone manufacturer in the world (personal opinion http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif ) and there BRITISH !!! Check this out Prestige Series - PD2450 It is a 24" 1000W @ 8 Ohm driver!!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif Not really practical for us lot, but WOW factor 10/10 http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif The PD 1850 is a lurvly speaker... i have 2 in my Turbosound bins. but the void 18 is no longer made... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif I have been ins
  22. Electovision do a nice one... Three colour and a large dot pitch (bigger that the normal boards) However... Ebay can be deciving about what you are actually buying. so make sure you do your research into the make and model board you are looking at. Also, most boards are only programmable via the IR remote by standing in the front of the show. Mine plugs into my computer so i can change what is displaying all the time. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif Good luck! p.s If you need a custom case for the board, let me know...
