  1. What can i say .... ... Its a shure...
  2. Why would you want an abs flight case? I personnaly dont trust them, it depends who makes it, but my past experience with any abs cases over 4U are very flimsy when there opened. I personnaly use laminated wood cases because of the strength. I can make all sorts and style of cases - including fibreglass ones which are stronger and lighter than abs cases.
  3. 7,8,9,10,11, and 12.... but will do anywhere if the price is right, and there is mains power... I used to do the riverboat discos on the thames !!!!! Have travelled to North wales once with a band to supply sound and light, but mainly cover the south...
  4. Link please? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif
  5. LOL http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif u lazy sod ADS !!!! LOL http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif
  6. How does this work? Do they need to give the vehicle a once over first? do you have to use their garages? are there only certain types of vechicle covered cos mine aint in the list? And if the repair is over £1000 what happens? do you pay the rest? Oh! i have just filled in the form and realised that my truck is now nearly 10 years old !!! blimey !!! Cheers ! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif
  7. QUOTE b> The music would be copyrighted so you would not be able to use it. Hmm... good point, but if it was only a clip, not a full song, i think it would be ok. I have been posting cd's out for a while, but i dont really get them paying back. Whereas a video download on the site would mean that if people wanted to see what my show looks like, then they could download the movie and see for themselves. I would have it running in an active window on the site, but those ppl who use dial up still would have a problem viewing it. As i am still re-doing my site (since b4 xmas http://ww
  8. OOOOoooooooooooooooooooo Drive rack...... nice !! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif But how much??? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif Anyway... An eq and x-over in one unit will be ample for your needs... If you dont know how to use a eq correctly then you really dont need a 15 band eq!!! - So many people around here think that the sliders should be all the way up/down !!!! I use a Behringer DSP2490 which is a parametric eq plus other handy "toys" and then an external x-over because i dont always need my x-over... If i am only using a 1k
  9. QUOTE and of course everyone knows that an 18" driver will give better bass performance than a 12" one And this is another minefield.... Just cos you have 1 18" bass, or 4 12" bass in a cabinet doesnt mean its louder. Bass frequencies on a larger diameter cone go lower, because the cone doesn't return to the center position as fast as a smaller cone. This is why an 18" cone has a deep thump, but a 12" cone is a nice tight bass. For a standard sized venue, a 15" or possibly a 12" bass driver is ok. An 18" would be too bassy. If your outside in a field then a 18" driver will have a be
  10. QUOTE Bear in mind that well-used speakers may have weak magnets and that's why the voice coils burned out anyway. Its not the magnet that makes the coil burn out! its the wrong amp! Anyway, thanks all, i have decided to go with buying new cones and a bigger power rating - so hopefully they wont blow so easily... PD drivers are what Turbosound use in there cabinets. There recone kits are fairly easy to install... But i have never had Eminence to be reconed before... Anyway all is ordered, and old baskets removed, shame really cos they have good magnets on them! http://www.dj-fo
  11. Hi ppl I have just read and replied to the photos on website post, and not to take the topic of the rails, thought i would ask this seperately: What would you think to having a downloadable avi/mpeg video of the lighting show? I did a disco at the weekend and re-setup my light controller and some new scenes and chases... When i let the controller play and use the music my show had a new "edge" it looked fantastic like never before! So i had my digicam there and took a small movie of the show to billie jean - my test song, before any people had turned up. I intend on doing this
  12. Use a Javascript scroller... or Dynamic HTML script.... Dynamic Drive Free source Code!!!
  13. This is a very good point.... A disclaimer can be put on the gallery... I have a gallery and have been using a gallery for about 3 years... i only have a select few pictures on there though. I also work with bands and singers... Because i take the photos of the band or artist(s) then they are mine. However the document above suggests that if they were to become famous for example, then i may not have the right to use them. But i have consent from the artists, and i generally am requested to burn a cd of them for there own promotional work so it can work both ways... I will be addi

Do none of you have the DMC discs??? I use regularly: Grease, Dirty Dancing, Stars on 45 (abba) and the DMC Soul Mix fills the floor. I also have made some of my own mixes for theose "special occasions"... i.e.. A disney mix: a few disney sing alongs for the kids ( and the pi55ed ppl in the pub) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif But it depends on the crowd and function !

  17. I too used to have some H&H kit. I now only have a V900 amplifier which is a fantastic amp 450Wrms @ 8 ohm... But all there it was 8 or 16 ohm for some bizarre reason !!! only there more modden stuff was rated at 4ohm... but then they disapeared... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/huh.gif
  18. If you want to use the TV out option as an extended desktop. then XP is a must. XP Home should be capable to do it. As for the "Bug" of CD+g enabled drives... you will need one of the following drives: HP 9000 series (CD+RW), HP 8000 series, HP 7960. Any Plaxtor drive will read and write CD+G. And some sonys are also capable. I personally use Plextor and HP for my karaoke machines... PS... I use Swift for karaoke... and discos !!! Tho Ots still rulez !! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/notworthy.gif
  19. If the controller is abstract as well then it will be one of 3 models... Mini DMX controller: Has Blackout, Slow, Strobe, Light Show, and Sound Off. A very basic controller. Not sure how many channels... but i had one as a backup, but as i dont need it anymore, i will b selling it. The Compact Controller: This is a 32 channel controller . It has number 1-8 for head selection (head being effect) and the top row has head, colour, gobo, scene, bank, chase, cancel, and save. On the left is Light show, blackout, strobe, and sound on, and on the right of the controller is a joystick. T
  20. Diskeeper Lite is NOT anything to do with XP. It is a third party app that was probrably on your Motherboard CD as a bundled software. Whats lite about it? well, it doesn't have all the features of the full product hence it keeps asking you to buy the full version. Diskeeper is very good bit of software, but not really for home use. I install it on servers, becuase it can be scheduled torun at specific times. As for the 128Gb limit, it is a common fault !!! Click this link and download the fix.... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif BIG Drive enabler BTW... Y
  21. The noise in this case is down to the laptops "earth"... Some power supplies for lappys are compleately isolated from the mains in side. however the other type actually use the earth as te ground for the DC line. A quick test for this is to unplug the laptops psu from the mains. I have this, but only on systems of 2k +. Hope this helps ! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif
  22. Welcome http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/042.gif As for active speakers, if you already have the tops, then it makes sense that you buy an active sub as well... or two! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif I personnally dont use active speakers as i am old fasioned in the sense i like to have one lead for the speakers and have the amp where ever i am so i can control it.
  23. I cant personnally see the point of request slips at a disco... unless your supplying pens too. This may work at a wedding, but not in your hotel and pub style of show. This is where experience comes in. Reading the floor is the hardest part of DJing. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  24. Good luck Chris... Your not thinking of closing the forum though are you?? If you are, please PM me... I guess i wont be able to get my new amp from chris then.... And more urgently BULBS !!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif
