Interestingly, they both enjoy different genre's - the boy is a fan of more urban music, including rap whilst the girl prefers dance. Heard a song on the radio a few weeks ago but didn't hear what it was called. I think it was either a classical or an orchestral piece. Basically, to batch convert Ots files back to MP3 you need to use Ots Studio: Import all the Ots files (File - Import - "Ots/Wave/MPEG File(s)" Add all your Ots files Click the Import button. When done: File - Export - As MP3 Files. I've no tested this so don't quote me!

I can't answer that without knowing a bit more about your set-up. Upgrading your sound card to a better one depends on a number of factors mostly to do with the quality of your existing gear and media. If you're using 128kbps MP3's along with entry-level, second-hand amplification and speakers with poor quality interconnects and cables...then upgrading the sound card isn't going to make much difference. However, as a starting point to improving the quality of your output it's probably a worthwhile investment.

I use two cheapish sound cards - one PCMCIA and one external. Both offer substantial improvement over the onboard sound on my laptop and on my PC. Brown Girl in the Ring brings back a very vivid memory for me. I was doing a rather tame 60th which consisted of the ladies dancing, more out of politeness than anything else, when I played this track. U2 used to make wonderful albums in the 80's - Boy, October, War, Under a Blood Red Sky, Unforgettable Fire, Wide Awake in America (EP), Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum are all superb. Morning Dan. Even though music was my first love, and she will be my last, there are times when I can't find anything I want to listen to. Nothing hits the spot. Indeed, it can actually aggravate me! Although these occasions are rare I hate it when it happens. If I analysed my mood at that time I suppose it could be to do with tiredness, lack of motivation, generally feeling low, etc. I always come around from this 'depression' and music always takes me back, no questions asked. Just thought I'd reiterate what most of us already know. I've spent the last few months ripping all my CD's to a PC hard drive. Naturally, I've been using the built-in soundcard on this PC to listen to the lossless WAV rips and, eventually, the Ots encoded files using Ots AV.
