  1. Have put my Screenworks Fast Fold Rear projection on ebay in case anyone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...6#ht_500wt_1083
  2. I just added a fibre par can case on fleabay if anyone is interested. Holds up to 12 Par56/Par64 cans. Ideal for uplighting. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...STRK:MESELX:IT Got a few other bits and bobs on there as too
  3. Arc eye can happen under any circumstances with any welder, it doesn't even have to be direct and I am not sure where you got the 2 metre thing from. I have suffered badly from it twice.
  4. I use 1 400w UV Cannon and its plenty for any event I have done
  5. He did already state that he was using a laptop with converted music so yes he would need a produb licence, but it will conly cover the music he owns the originals of.
  6. Theres no way I would ever let a band go through my PA, besides the risk, they get paid more than enough to privide there own.
  7. The pro dub licence wont cover tracks you dont own, so if the tracks ripped belong to your colleague you cant legally use them.
  8. Theres also a seller on ebay who sells mesh speaker grilles. If you give him the dimensions he will cut them to size for for a fraction of what you'd pay at B&Q http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PERFORATED-STEEL-SPE...id=p3286.c0.m14
  9. I wouldnt even touch plasmas for mobile work, they are heavy and have to stay upright. Go for LCD they are much lighter and far more suited to mobile work.
  10. Have been using and Allen & Heath Xone 3d for two years now no probs, amazing sound quality and totally love it.
  11. I use Native Instruments Audio8 DJ soundcard. Cant fault it, its a serious bit of kit, not cheap though.
  12. Thats a usual response the minute someone that doesnt like them sees one in use. They are just complaining for complaints sake. Funny how it happens to us mobile dj's, ever heard of a nightclub being asked to not use a smoke machine. The old LeMaitre type canister smoke machine did cause problems but all new machines have no affect at all.
  13. I think you'll find the ADJ stuff uses a better quality case and there are differences with the LED's used. In my opinion I prefer the ADJ goodies any day
  14. I use a UV cannon at all gigs, they especially look superb at weddings and even better if you use uplighting set to purple it can totally transform a room and look stunning.
  15. I'm just puzzled how the words Behringer and Audio Enhancement can be put in the same sentence. I would highly recommend a DBX Driverack.
  16. Those Y leads have limits, you really need a vga splitter which also boost the signal or you will have major problems. As for the size I use 4x 15" screens and they are plenty big enough for the dancefloor. I also use a projector with a 2m wide rear projected screen which can be seen from the back of any room.
  17. Yes I have owned a Xone 3d for over a year now and the only fault is not a fault rather a grumble. Having the headphone and mic socket on the front makes choice of flightcase a bit of a pain. Other than that, audio quality and build quality is excellent and even the customer service from Allen & Heath is like having a hotline to Rolls Royces MD's office. (i had issues when ugrading to vista and no vista drivers were available). I have never found a more versatile mixer, I use it with Traktor Pro, Traktor Scratch and PCDJ VJ. All flawless. If you have the money though go for
  18. [quote name='(davemoody @ Jul 23 2008, 01:04 PM) I cannot wait for the influx of crappy LED lighting to end. Every DJ is starting to look the same. Same effects everywhere. I am sick of seeing VueIII's already. Now everyone seems to be going for the cluster lasers. So many DJ's shows are just getting too generic for my liking I dont think this has anything to do with LED lighting, this has been going on for ages just look at the gallery. In the old days when light screens were the norm most discos were pretty much home made, no i'm not saying it was better but they all looke
  19. I had 2 RMX 1450s and an ancient USA1300. I found the RMX 1450s seriously underpowered and always clipped compared to the older and supposidly lesser power USA1300. Have now replaced them all with Peavey amps and all is good.
  20. I could do with replacement gobo wheels for my 4 datamoons as they are getting a bit faded now after years of faithful service. If anyone knows where I can get them please let me know
  21. The current version is by Micky Modelle
  22. I'm in the Northamptonshire area and have been a pro dj for 24 years if anyone wants training
  23. I've used it for over 2 years and its one of the best packages for mixing. Forget the talk function and use a mic through a proper mixer.. Take the time to read the manual, use and external mixer and treat it like twin cd decks. Analyse your tracks and learn to use the loops and the sync buttons. Then the fun will begin. Soundcard wise, a cheepy is the soundblaster 24 bit live external USB, it will give you access to 2 of the 4 decks. IMHO its the tightest of all the packages once you get to know how to use it.
  24. I have had the same thing happen to me, scared the hell out of the guests as it went during background music at a wedding. Mine also had a protective grille but it still managed to shower the dancefloor with glass. I have since stopped using it
  25. The big difference is when your computer freezes up or crashes and you lose all control over the sound belting out of your speakers. Anything that involves a computer will at some point crash. With a regular mixer you can switch to cd players, use the mic etc to cover yourself. Go midi only or use a virtual mixer you are screwed until you can restart. The quality of midi mixers as well leaves a lot to be desired unless your going to shell out for an Allen & Heath ones but then you are talking big bucks. The Behringer BCD2000 is a fantastic bit of kit but i would never u
