  1. So Tony, as your a local lad, what do you think of that. £75 is a farce. When somebody is being charged £235 for a disco. God it gets my back up.........
  2. Which hotels are you talking about. I have contracts for a couple of the smaller hotels in the South Shore who although do not pay £180, are quite prepared to pay a little less for any functions there and if they have rooms free not being used, I even have the option to use one. Which is great........ It is the bih hotels that penny pinch....
  3. Now that is good, if it wasn't for the excellent forum which shows edited post, you could have got away with that. But 10/10 for effort. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/nono.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/nono.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/nono.gif
  4. Insualtion Tape.......... About 5-7 gig seems to be in the right area....... And there is always that fund of trying to get the piece that got away from the bottom of your shoe................
  5. Lancashire, so what kind of music would you like?
  6. 16, they are all leave school leavers tomorrow.
  7. Last chance for any tips on the latest music, as the do is tomorrow night, which is the start of another busy weekend. Anbody on the north west area near Chorley, What a thunderstorm earlier. Brilliant........
  8. You could say that................
  9. If you had a full dancefloor it seems like their playlist worked. We hear so many times on these forums how they don;t work. What type of music was on the list.
  10. It must be good cash.............or why else would you take the same gig.
  11. Sometimes your first experience of a 'type' of party can be make or break........ I did a house party once.............!!!! In July, 50 people invited to a 50th, should have been good. I got there and they told me to set up in the garage as they would all be in the garden and dancing later in the garage. 8pm, heavens opened and I did not see anybody until 11pm when it stopped raining. They all came out till 11.30 dancing and then it started raining again and every one went home. All these things are meant to test us......that night they did.
  12. Thanks Andy, I always carry my full Cd collection as I always expect the unexpected. There could be nothing worse that somebody asking for a 70/80 classic and saying you haven't got it with you, but offer to play them scissor sisters. If it is as half as good as last Saturday night, it will be a good night. If only all the gigs I did, where half as good as Saturday night, I would book myslef out more.
  13. Cheers James, Are you youngsters listening to any of the old favs from 80/90 these days. Keep these new ones coming, as my typical gigs are weddings and private functions. So a prom night is something 'new' which I suppose isn't a bad thing.
  14. BigBen, thanks for the tips on the the mummies game. The kids were all playing games outside, but the adults loved playing it. It was an excellent evening and even with the "footie" result, we had a top night, in fact probably oine of the best of the year. Which means I am now onto Thursday nights 'gig'. Secondary schools leavers party. Thanks for some tunes already listed, but what are the latest "must plays" for these teenagers. Any new or old ones are appreciated. Live The Dream..........Can't wait for World Cup 2010. You can get good odds on Steve McClaren not being manager par
  15. Cheers fella, Let me know what he says, I will play his requests if he wants to come.
  16. Taken a booking for the local parish summer party tomorrow. Originally, I was told just Adults, but about an hour ago, they rang to say that they had allowed children this year. There will be about 50 children and 170 adults. They mentioned they wanted some games for the kids, so any idea's what I could do with 50 kids between the ages of 3 & 10 for about an hour. I am quite comfy with adults and party games, but kids are kids..... I am also doing a prom night on Thursday for my old school so any hints on music for that would help me greatly. Have a good one and live the dream!!!
  17. I would suggest Red Hot Salsa and Tina Turner Natbudh City.
  18. Kingy, makes a very good point and dtates it well. Do a search on the here and you will find more than enough cheese to last you till your 70th. I always find it moire difficult getting music for 18th & 21sy Birthday, which is why I don't take to may of them bookings.
  19. Ha ha http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/ranting.gif Friday nights gonna be alright, gonna be alright gonna be alright now baby........ http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/ranting.gif

  21. Thanks for the replies, some excellent tunes I probably miss out. Keep them coming, especially some of the party ones. Not sure about the PJ & Duncan one though,,,,,,,oh the memories.
  22. Got a couple of 21st coming up over the next few weeks. Although general party music I am fine with. For 21st's I am always wary that I may not have some dancey music request, so if you are aware of any please let me know. Also, if you know any of the party music that maybe coming back into the playlist. Cheers
  23. Yes, that is right. You go into the park and follow the signs. It is opend during the day and at weekends.
  24. Well since a very busy time with disco's 2 nights a weekend for the last few months and day job being very busy as well, I am of the Alicante for 4 days golf. It means that the cash earned over the last few months will get spent and I will enjoy every minute of spending it. See you next week.
  25. It could have been the Theme to Friends....
