  1. Guys the smoking ban, came in here in Ireland over a year ago, and all the drama quenns, saying pubs will loose customers, B:cense:x, Pubs and clubs are busier than they ever were, most places have an outside place for people to smoke, and the best thing ever is you dont go home with a smell of smoke off you, but I have to say the smoke ust drown out the farts lol so watch out for that:)
  2. Afternoon gang, just thinking of buying a laser from funky lighting, are these lasers any good?
  3. Cheers gang , thanks for all the great info
  4. Yeh was looking at the dennons or technics, anyone I speak to keep telling me cdj 1000's sound like they are brain washed pioneer lol and they are standard in most of the clubs as well, But thanks for the advice mate
  5. I would use nearlly all the features as I do a lot of beat mixing, Id say the loops are the only thing I wouldnt use to much
  6. Morning all, Quick question, I have a set of Pioneer Cdjs 800's, Im think of upgrading to a set of 1000's, Is there a major difference between the 2? as I havnt used the 1000's
  7. Cheers mate thanks for the advice, ill prob give the brouchers a go for the hotel and that, I think id prob be better off handing in the demos into the pubs and clubs, but the only thing about most of the clubs in this city, Its the one owner and he has a chap that hires all the dj's. and he looks after his own mates, Most of them are really poor dj's. Dont meant that in a big headed way, a lot of people have said it and most of them cant mix at all, they are commercial clubs. By the way from Waterford, In the sunny souteast:)
  8. Cheers mate, anychance you could send em on a copy of that, just where I could get some ideas. ill pass you on my e-mail address if thats ok?
  9. Good idea about the free gig, might help a lot, will give that a go, I did stick an add in my local paper just in the small adds section, never got anything from it, I would play for any type of crowd, as I do a good few 21st, I prefer younger crowds, I have 2 weddings coming up during the summer, never done any weddings before, just normally the 21st's and pubs or clubs. Thanks for the advice as well guys
  10. Afternoon Gang. Just looking for a bit of advice, Im dj'n about 5 years now, Just finding it very hard to get gigs. Ive sent business cards and demos into pubs and clubs, and I do a few mobile gigs. I think the reason is, There is to many dj's just want to do something that will make me stand out from the rest, any ideas how to do this? and I have aobut 1000 euro to spend on advertising if that works. Any help would be appricated.
  11. Never knew that, You learn something new everyday:)
  12. Got a set of these myself , think the are pro light, they give a great show, they are a bit on the heavy side, I just have them sitting on my tops, bit heavy for the rig, they give a great show, throw a lot of light around the venue, you would still need the moon flowers or scans, to fill the floor, but they turn plenty of heads, and look great with the smoke.
  13. Cheers gang some good advice there, I think they come with a controller,so they might save me buying a dmx controller, as I wouldnt have a clue how to progamme them http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sad.gif
  14. Thanks fort he advice, Im worried about the Truss not holding them its a pro light truss, im wondering would they give a good affect on the ground? Are the hard to progamme with a dmx controller?
  15. Hi guys, Just thinking of getting 2 Pro light (Spot Lights Moving heads) for my mobile set up and clamping them to a truss stand, has anybody got these or recommend them?
