  1. Whilst i was gigin last week i had a small problem, where i suddenly both my speakers stopped putting anything out, and there was a lovely burnt smell in the air. It turns out my amp has blown my 15" drivers in my wharfedale speakers, the amp was only at a quarter volume and barely working, the power supply seemed fine, so i can't work out what has blown them. The amp fires up straight off, and doesn't fall into protection mode, i i've no idea whats caused it. My question is what should i do? Is there a way i could check the amp isn't pumping volts upto my speakers? Al
  2. I'm so glad that dennon, have come it with something like this, no offence to the likes of Numark, but having used loads of different CD players in various venue and for other dj's, i personnally own and use dennon DN4000's they're one of the best players i've ever used, i even prefer them to pioneers which so many people rave about. So i've no reason to think that dennon HD2500 won't be anything less than the usual dennon quality we're used to!
  3. I think you seem to be making a big fuss over nothing one venue i do has a safety fire light above the dance floor on at all times, it doesn't really ruin stuff that much, you can still see the effects lights, and just deal with it of don't work there if it bothers you!
  4. Well i actually went for them in the end, and have been quite impressed by them so far cetainly a better sound than from the gemini paor i had before and better than a pair of idex that i've borrowed, just hope they'll last now, but i supposse for £180 delivered for a pair of 15's i can't complain if i only get a year out of them.
  5. have you tried talking to Hadden Labs (i think thats what they're called) directly as far as i know they do all denon's service and warrenty stuff in the UK, so should have the details etc
  6. I think you do need that special something what it is i don't really know, i know when i cover for a mate''s weekly pub quiz, have had comments about how non wooden i am, cos i just talk away and get on with it and can't always pronounce every word but who cares i'm only human and it seems some people enjoy that. What that special something is, i have no idea, but you need it!! I think agreeing with an earlier post anyone can play records, but not everyone can be an entertainer.
  7. QUOTE (brianmole @ Aug 8 2006, 11:14 AM) Any sign looks crass IMO for private parties. Sure, there are occasions when a sponsor needs to advertise an event (for example at a DJ competition), but NEVER at a private party. Worst still is someone visibly advertising another service at a wedding like snaps or glowsticks for sale. I guess this can be ok at some events like fundraisers and kids parties, but not at a private wedding. I agree 110% with that had an argument with a jumped up relief manager who wanted me to advertise they're hypnotist night for the pub, whilst doing a wedding i
  8. I'm sure over time the likes of Dennon and Pioneer with come on board and start to produce a decent Controller that will play MP3's from a range of different mediums, like the already meantion Numrak Director does. And yes if you are worried about knock's to hard drive use flash based media, you can them them in sizes of upto a few gig and they are getting bigger, and they are quite robust, i managed to wash one of my flash drives with my shirt left it to dry and and it worked perfect no data loss!!
  9. I've got a vestax mixer with two outputs, but if i use them both the output level drops, so if it were the same for yours probably wouldn't solve much! Couldn't you just make a custom lead up, so feed both amps??
  10. If it's the rainbow Islands by seb one your after, like on the one on amazon i've got it on Vinyl!! Give us a shout if you need it!!
  11. try www.ukdj.com they do loads of connectors and bits, and quite cheap!!!
  12. QUOTE (welshyDJ18 @ Jul 23 2006, 09:02 AM) To be honest, the way i look at it is, you have two types of clients... those who will pay whatever, to have a good quality entertainment package, and those who will find the cheapest DJ possible, regardless of weather they DJ from a AIWA home stereo system, and have argos 10W disco balls, so no-matter how much you tell them, the bargain they are getting if they book you, if they can find cheaper, they will! I couldn't agree more, have even told clients that if they're looking for the cheapest price, then if the carry on looking i'm sure they will
  13. I let it play they'll be dancing again soon enough!!
  14. Right here we go based on details from NADJ would i be right in tinking that if i used a Numark Director MP3 player, with a USB keyfob and downloaded music from Tesco online (Just an example) which i only stored on the keyfob in digital format, then i wouldn't need a Digital Dj license, only a normal PPL, becuase from what i can see the Digital Dj gives me the right to copy my CD's but if they've never been on CD, it doesn't seem to really clarify how you stand. Was just a thought, as it's something i'm looking into, but don't fancy the laptop option as i want something more hands on, and i
  15. I'll just get the dyson ou and give it a try!! Lol Will stick to the fabreeze!!
