  4. Thanks guy's it was a pleasure. We hope it helps others. Brian still waiting for it lol With reference to Men in Black, after the gig the parents tried to explain that they had booked a disco to be run by 2 men dressed in black to give the Men in Black theme. But they failed to let me know this when I arrived. I should have carried on to say that I will only cover a gig if I know the person, or a known person on the forum. A learning curve that I that I learnt from, very quickly, as i did not to let the lad down on his birthday. As I said to the couple at least I turned u

  7. Great Night last night at the Golden Palace. Only about 90 people there but about 60 stayed all night. We started with a lady who sang The greatest love of all Whitney, well I was gob smacked boy she could sing, she didn't need much power she had that and could use the mic to the full, it was great to work with her it was unrehearsed, she apparently has sung there before, all I was told she can sing. Maybe leonna can tell us more of her. Was very surprised at some tracks becoming floor killers Queen was one of them. Just to help Mic Mac and must add will not work in al
  8. I Have to agree with Dukesy above. As I said at the end of my post it was not critisism. I was trying to help. You have been on here now a little while and it's time for you to take stock of what you have acheived since you started. Has your disco improved, ie the look of it, the sound of it, the lighting of it? Is it neat and tidy? No one has said you are a bad dj. But are you happy with the way you perform. Only you can judge these things yes other dj's can see you perform and I would not do that etc. but it's what you are happy with. Do you notice gue
  9. Just to add my thoughts Being involved in the industry for so long now I have seen, along with quite a few other members on here, that there have been a vast change in the industry. As DJ's we have to play what is required at the event, it might not be to our liking and if the dj hates it that much they should not accept the booking, as the dj will not understand what should be played correctly etc. without going to much off topic. Taking into account that artists of today can not perform these day's without the aid of effects etc. there are a few that perform to the ge

  13. Judging by the options you have put up it is quite clear that you dont have the ability yet to understand the room and dance floor yet. Not all the options can apply to one night, you have to experience various nights no understand what is going on. I have read your quest etc and seen that you have done nothing about your plight. It's time for you to take action get some good equipment and learn from others you are still making mistakes etc we all do but what have to learnt from day 1 where have you moved from day 1. I think what you have to accept is th
  14. Have to add that a gang show can be be on of the great shows you have ever seen. These shows are put on by people that only help out at boy's or girls assocations like scouts or girl guides. there are other assocations as well in other areas . People dont support these ideas as much as we should do, we go on about ther not being much for kids to do etc. but i know there are people that give up alot of time to put things on for kids and dont get any thing in return for it, I could go on all night about this subject, but all I will do is support people like High fidelity for carrying on and
