  1. Well said, for the price of a ratchet strap, it's worth doing. Saves all the costs from legal fees etc when or if something does happen.
  2. I hope this pic is not for real. Anyone who bumps into the stack (not to mention the bass frequencies moving stuff around) will not only get a cab on their head but a moving fixture too. If this is real please don’t do this!!!!
  3. I was not impressed with the cheap led parcans their output is less than a 300w par 56, if you have the money get the 1 W led type they are much better.
  4. There has just been a topic on here about external sound cards
  5. Some laptops and pc's sound cards pick up the HD and power supply noise, it's not really a quality issue.

    Smoking Cdn-88

Hello guys Long time since i have been here! Anyway, I thought i would have a play with my cd player today got some new vj stuff just wanted an audio source... I turned my numark cdm-88 on and fired up a cd, i was only getting one channel so i checked my connected and to my horror saw smoke billowing out the back of the main unit! EEEEKK! Took it apart and a capacitor on a pcb that has 4 mosphets and lots of diodes and other smaller caps was running very hot and was bulging. Can i get this part still? Should i try and replace that cap and try it again before buying anything else? I
  10. I got 2 of the cheap Thomann ones ages ago, they have internal fuses which kept blowing on mine but n/m I have to say not that impressed with the cheaper ones, fine for mood or accent lighting but don’t expect it to live up to a normal par 56.
  11. If this is what you want to do then just use some 13amp flex and wire up all the live pins to live etc, this does mean you can have live pins exposed when you use a link cable so be careful!
  12. You can get mics with usb if thats what you are looking for, i think samson do a cheap one.
  13. With all channels on or just one?
  14. Was that 'professionally' designed?'
  15. Isn't the numark one really buggy?
  16. ZZZzzzZZzzz ~snore~ HeHe :P If you need to fall asleep at night that video would be really handy I liked the DN-D6000 so much so this would seem the logic step, though i really want the wave display of the CMX 3000 yummy! I think I will be waiting a bit for a HD player seeing as they are still quite new and buggy, hopefully they will make a player with all the doodads and knickknacks i want.... It will probably be a PC...
  17. You can buy cable which has a mains and a dmx feed in them as as they are balanced it will be fine!

    Wireless Dmx

Wow neeto Wireless dmx has been in the industry for quite some time but has not come down in price i wonder if they use the same system... Well it beats my wifi wireless dmx using a router so simple! Though with lots of metal around with rigging wont this affect the signal, this would be fine for telle as it's just the odd static but with dmx it might send it funny. Also have you tryed it with your amp/smoke machine/strobe/hair dryer!! etc running may affect it.
  20. Yes. You're right, I am sorry. I wrote what was interpreted incorrectly and thus let you in the wrong direction, if you need any help with understanding x-over’s and cab creation please don’t hesitate to ask and I’ll try and help you to understand me better. Unpowered active x-over’s exist only in the form of theoretical eq, there use would be pointless as the signal loss would be large. However i still stand by my point in which the main difference is not one is powered and one is not.
  21. No you said main difference, which is not true. I never said the statement was not true! The main difference is it does totaly different things!!! Active split the signal, passive split the output. As you can get unpowered active x-overs. You just picked up on one little point where i said 'inside a cab', they normally do no cab builder today would place it outside a cab as it gets hot and can be prone to damage.
  22. No it' not. Active goes between your mixer and amps splitting the output signal into the desirable frequencies, so for sub and mid/highs you need 2 amps and 1 x-over. One amp takes the low frequencies the other the highs. A passive x-over sits inside a cab, it only allows certain frequencies through it, so it might have 2 outputs high and low, one going to you hf driver the other to your lf diver. So in larger systems you lose power in a passive x-over due to operational costs and heat etc.
  23. Yeah i agree with the text, not nice to look at. Also the banner at the top is stretched and the clip art has a different colour to the background. You need more photos of different gigs and not of boats and i would cut the music.
  24. Are you getting any gigs or have you just started? You say you gave out cards, whom too? The average person looks on a disco website to confirm what you are like and to find guide prices, they don't normally go straight to Google to look for a disco. Yellow pages and word of mouth are the first call. Shop windows are also good. Not knowing what your business plan is i can't really comment on your advertising however a good website is nothing with out the proper infrastructure you have put in place in the 'real world'. What do you think guys?

Forgive me if I have missed something here, but you are 'upgrading' your colourscans for near enough the same product you have even specified colourscans. Why are you upgrading them, are the old ones broken? Since you already have the colourscans and they are not that much heaver then the Chavet Intimadators 1.2 and a bit smaller I don’t get what you want. Sorry but I am being dumb? On a side note ryger tinyscans are 100w and as the name states tiny! DMX with colour and gobo wheel. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ryger-scans-tinyscan...1QQcmdZViewItem
