having just purchased 2 fbt 9sa subs and 2 4sa tops, I'm looking for a wee bit of advice on how to get the best sound. what levels should the subs be in relation to the tops ? am i better off setting speaker levels at max volume levels and using mixer to reduce levels[and raise throughout the night]or should i set speaker levels lower and use master level on mixer to raise sound levels ? any advise general or specific would be apreciated[ they do sound exellent and are invoking a little bit of proffessional jealousy from my pals who used to lend me there system'' its not really a sound system,

hi ,having just purchased my fbt 4sa's and 9sa subs I'm in the market for a new mixer ? I've blown most of my cash on speakers so any recomendations would be good. I play on cd decks and don't need to do any beat matching ,sampling etc ,just something that will maybe do the speakers justice, Any idea how much I need to spend[ little as poss to be honest], do I need to go top end because of the speakers ? regards calum

I just got hold of some fbt max 4a active tops and pair of max 9s subs, not playing out till the 23rd but will report back...cheers for the recomendations [paid £1200 for them including stands and leads], regards

what do people think of the kam pro series [active]? a lot cheaper than mackie ,is it a case of you pay for what you get, cheers

cheers for the reply, didn't really think about the weight issue and very nearly just bought a couple of 1530's, if used sensibly[ not too loud], are the 450's still a good bet ?, has anyone got any knowledge about the KAM pro series, got a mate in a blues band who loves them, also fairly cheap in comparison

thinking of purchasing pair of active speakers plus a sub woofer second hand , any opinions ? think the 450's are newer but the over heat seems to be a problem, do the 1530's suffer similar probs ? also there seems to be a wee bit of griping about the 18 inch sug, with some opinions rating the 15 inch as better, regards calum p.s I'm new to all this so any advice apreciated
