  4. It's ok. However the winner by a country mile is Ots. I've got licensed versions of Traktor, Mixmiester and Numark Cue and trust me for an overall piece of dj software nothing comes close.
  5. Firstly and most importantly I'm no expert, so much of this could be barrack room lawyer material. http://planetsmilies.net/person-smiley-1128.gif I do a regular gig in a pub with a limiter and all you need to do is stand below it (it's about 7 feet up) clap your hands and it flies into the red! There is a dedicated power point that dj's/bands should use. I'll say no more on that point, you could not play a background track without it tripping. I've been told, to set them, at whatever level the local Authority deem appropriate, the decible tester needs to be one metre from the neares
  6. The funny thing is, I don't know how you would class mine! I've got Bose and the speaker sections fit into a base that houses the amp. You cannot use the speakers without the base but the speakers are not powered! D'OH my brain hurts! One thing is though I love them.
  7. Ouch mate! Sorry to hear, it's strange how we don't like to hear females (notice I didn't use the word lady) swear. I put it down to 'girl power' and them trying act like the worst types of men. What are these people going to be like in forty years time, binge drinking, swearing tattooed grannies. What a pretty thought. Also it just reinforces why I don't like doing weddings.
  8. The best one I've seen is the Thriller dance on you tube, it's fantastic but a bit too much work involved for me.
  9. Don't go there! Very good! http://planetsmilies.net/tongue-smiley-8855.gif
  10. I appreciate that but if you don't the difference between a cha cha and a funeral march then it's not that easy.
  11. Welcome to the mad house, enjoy and I'm confident any questions you may have will be answered in full. There's a good set of people here. http://planetsmilies.net/not-tagged-smiley-10090.gif Matron says I can have my crayons back now!
  12. Okay, my better half and I are getting hitched next year and we're looking to do a quick ballroom dance after our first dance. We can't do a step of anything so lessons are going to taken. The question is this, we love John Paul Young's Love is in the air so what dance step is it? http://planetsmilies.net/party-smiley-565.gif Thank you kindly
  13. The Mackies have been sold but the RCF is still available http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/shop/view_p...1245&page=1
  14. Sorry same as above, went there years ago for a medieval banquet with plenty of buxom serving wenches and flagons of frothing mead! http://planetsmilies.net/eat-drink-smiley-7858.gif
  15. I've a pair of Mackie 450's for sale in perfect working order and excellent condition. They've been in Mackie bags from new. I expect everybody knows the spec of them so I wont bore you with all that. I'm looking for £450 for the pair, this will include cables and stands. I also have an RCF ART 705 sub woofer available at the same price of £450. This also is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. It's rated at 800 watts and packs a very powerful punch, works extremely well with the Mackies. The reason for selling them is I've bought some Bose L1's and B1's.
  16. I fully appreciate that, it was an attempt at humour, you know irony and all that hence my hidey smilie! Do you honestly think, I think people go around with a mobile disco using Mahogany (?) covered speakers!
  17. That's one heck of a rig you've got there in picture 3. Speakers look powerful enough but do you have to use a ladder to get up to your mixer? http://planetsmilies.net/not-tagged-smiley-10102.gif
  18. Without knowing what you want from the software I would suggest it is impossible to recommend any package. I have licences for Numark Cue with video, Traktor, Mixmeister with video and Ots with video. they all have plus and minus points. If I had to nail my flag to one mast it would be Ots, so stable, reliable and user friendly. Downside to it - TIME, you need to spend a lot of time preparing and editing files, however, the end result is well worth the effort.
  19. I've recently invested in an L1 and B1 and for certain types of gigs I think they are top notch. 95% of my gigs are pub gigs, playing to a dance floor that can hold say about 50 people maximum and for those they work fantastically well. I use them for pub quizzes and again they are just the ticket - I know quizzes are not 'discos' but again they're are so much easier to set up than 450's and give a much superior sound quality. So to say they are NOT designed to do discos, to me is a tad strong for a sweeping statement. Probably for a hall with 200 plus people in then I would probably a
  20. Because every now again if I'm not 100% happy with the bpm Ots has given it, I will run the track through the Mixmeister analyser for a second opinion. As you are no doubt aware Ots will give you an intro and outro bpm and I feel sometimes the outro can be way out so I double check it and manually adjust it or not as the case may be. Secondly I will recommend Mixmeister to people who do not digital dj, maybe if somebody wants to establish their tracks bpms to catalogue them for use with mixing on decks.
  21. That's the software I use too, bally brilliant, so stable and reliable! However as a stand alone bpm analyzer then I would go for the mixmeister programme.
  22. Here's the fella, really good, most people seem to think it's the most accurate by far ..... http://www.mixmeister.com/do
  23. Cheers, there is a supplier (Absolute Music in Poole) not too far away so I think I'll pop in and have a listen. Thanks again http://planetsmilies.net/music-smiley-1306.gif
  24. So you are saying they'd be no good for running quizzes?
