  1. don't be so daft the only time he runs is when someone says it's his round. :bouncy: anyway welcome back bigben
  2. if you just use original cd's then no you don't need the license.if you format change or copy then you do
  3. the pro dub licence is for format shifting i.e if you buy original cd's and them transfer them to another format (such as mp3)
  4. glad it's today, yesterday took the family to drayton manor
  5. vinnie aka paul, without starting the debate over the license again and forget this crazy idea ,but what are your feelings towards the license now as it stands(obviously i won't expect you to answer on behalf of seda). do you think we dj's are getting a good fair deal or have their greed destroyed what could of been a good workable license and so alienated us all again
  6. come on mikee keep up,this was posted 10 mins before yours. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22217&hl= so what is your opinion mikee good idea or bad idea :mcps:
  7. sorry andy will tell my friends to stop bothering you tongue out icon
  8. phone you and ask to borrow yours. (i think it would be a good time for you to invest in one just in case i need it) :karen: i think we might add something to the quote and then buy one
  9. i don't think it matters what they make on top as long as you get what you want, i think i would try and meet them somewhere in the middle
  10. this is not our main income so i suppose it's different for us, but we would carry on till the end. personally i think it could do more damage to your bussiness then taking a hit .do you think guest's would recomend you and say he did not finish the night it wasn't he's fault because the bride and groom left the money at home. not something i would risk but as i say it is not our main income
  11. thats unbelieveable some of them are almost earning as much as mr harris :ads: :bouncy:
  12. agree with the others but if you do decide to do the nov gig, make sure your get full payment in advance
  13. he'll ask his bank manager :bouncy: :bouncy:
  14. i'd be surpised if they ask for there money back. it was beyound your control so don't worry about it
  15. nik i think it's always best if all three (dj,manager and client)get together and discuss the situation but at the end of the day the venue has the final say. in a situation where the manager was saying finish and the client was saying carry on who would you listen to. would you carry on regardless or finish. out of curiosity if you did continue and broke the venues license ,could there be any comeback on the dj(wheres mikee he would kniow)
  16. we had a similar situation it was an 18th and because the u18's were drinking(and 1 was very drunk) the manager asked us to make the song we were playing the last one.i asked if he would let us play 1 more after so we can announce the last song and finish on something more appropiate,he agreed and i went and spoke to the organiser with him and explained what was going on.it don't matter who booked you imo the venue has the final say it is there license.i think in circumstances like this it is all about comunication and making sure everyone knows what is going on and why

for me normally we will play any megamix that gets requested,if they ask for it they get it,normally peoplwill come up and say can you play some abba or whoeverand then they will get a track from that artist.the only megamixes we play off our own back is grease and jive bunny but have been known to throw in beachboy gold by gidea park on the odd occasion
  18. showaddywaddy :hide: :chad: i would vote for queen because i like what they done the best
  19. the warn bar in your profile is for the moderating team.basically if you break the forum rules you will recieve a warning normally on the first occasion they will just edit your post and send you a pm explaning what you have done wrong.but if the moderating team feels that it is a serious infringement or you are persistantly breaking the rules they will increase your warning level.at certain levels that will reduce the way you can post on the forum(such as having to have your post's cleared by mods). your warning level is only viewable to the moderating team and yourself

  21. it is a family membership with homestart and recovery.i had to leave a car up near liverpool once because i did not have recovery and hire a car to get home..what gets me is that i can start a new membership with them and get £60 knocked off the price.it shows that loyalty does not pay.
  22. just had my aa renewal quote come in at £250 for 1 years cover i have had 5 years continuous membership with them.so i went online to the rac and thwey quoted(same service) £190 so i done the same with the aa as a new member joining and got £195. i bumped into an aa man in town and asked him for a quote and he came out at £195. so why i have i got to pay £60 a year more tobe a loyal customer. do they think they can sting me or do they think i have mug tattoed on my forehead.i have just sent them an email telling them to shove there membership where the sun don't shine, and won't renew with the
