  3. so you think £3.99 is a good investment for half a coke and a half a packet of crisp that he will manage to blag off the bar person some how,.:bouncy:
  4. thought i'd post this up, just to add some more confusion(sorry) i emailed 7 digital and asked them directly, this is the reply Dear Andy, Am I right in guessing that the CD would just be for your playlist? Or would there be several copies distributed to party guests? If the CD is for the DJ's use only, see below. The venue should have a PRS license (their responsibility) and the DJ should have a PPL license (your responsibility). so i sent another email explaining that i just wanted to download a track and burn it to cdr for use at private parties i.e weddings and birthdays
  5. i use this site http://www.chartsingles.net/release-schedu...eptember%202008 but someone might have a better one

  7. that might cost him more than buying the new one straight from randy himself :bouncy: what you should know is andy is devons answer to randy bartlet so i'm sure for the right price he will make his own dvd for you. andy for the right price i can hold a camcorder(but i'm not driving to manchester to pick it up :protest: )
  8. must say the guy was very pleasant and understanding, saying it was he's friends fault.he apologised and packed away as quickly as he could .luckily for us we turned up early enough that he packed away and we got set up and checks done before the start time so no problem. why, it was easy to sort out and not the fault of the client, she booked us and wanted us. she found it as hard to believe they were there as we did. aslight inconvienience because we couldn't set up on arrival but no more than some weddings we have done
  9. thats what we were told tonight and sure enough there he was all set up and ready to go. turns out talking to my client her mum asked a friend of a friend if they were available to do the party back in january and they said they were not sure after a few weeks they went to one of our parties so enquired with us.booked us and told the friend of a friend not to bother(has they had heard nothing back from them).we took a deposit and done a meeting last week with them. they hear nothing from the other guy until today(he phoned the girls mum to chck the party was still on and times saying he was th
  10. if you think thats andy being grumpy you want to catch him just after he bought a round of drinks (apparently it did happen ounce) :bouncy:
  11. i have just had a reply from produb and it confirms my post. Hi, Thanks for your enquiry. You will need a Produb license to cover any tracks that you have copied. So if you have downloaded tracks from the internet to your computer than burn a CD copy that will need a license. If you just download the tracks to your computer and play the tracks from the same computer than you will not need a license as no copy has been made. With the CD’s you buy if you copy the tracks from the CD’s onto your computer you will need to license those copies and if you play
  12. i know you were n't having a dig at me steve. there still seems tobe a lot of confusion over the license and some(if not most of it )seems tobe people getting different answers to the same question from the people at produb. so i sent an email this morning asking the question hopefully they will reply tomorrow and i will post it up here.
  13. sorry steve , i did say don't shoot the messenger, it came from clare at the produb office. as you say she might be misinformed i don't know and i won't put any money on it either way.
  14. please please please don't shoot the messenger here but on another forum i visit someone put that scenario directly to produb, and the reply was that burning to cd r was for personal use only and anyone doing this in a professional capacity needed a license so according to produb you will need a license to burn legal mp3's to cd r's
  15. i know no other way.thats why i asked the question :dan+ju:

  23. i think we can argue about the fairness of this for eternity,,but for your argument when you bought your cd you paid for 1 copy of those tracks now you have 2 copies i m not saying it is fair but in simple terms that is the reason
  24. the simple answer to that is it saves carrying boxes and boxes of cd's round with you when you can put them all in 1 tiny little box called a harddrive.
