  1. Had a quick look at the site after getting 2 mails! Keyed in my PCode.....and was offered mobiles up to 2/300 miles away!!!!!!! The one DJ that was local(ish) was buried in the middle of the pile! Somehow I don't think I'll bother!
  2. PCDJ FX VRM, and I don't have 'other' third party DJ software on board! It's not a problem for me personally, I was just replying to earlier posts!
  3. I would tend to agree with that.... Being a beltsnbraces kind of guy....I also use good old gaffa for all those cables behind the stand! (better safe than sued if the wrong person comes to the side of the stand!)
  4. Yes, PCDJ does offer this facility....However, whenever you refresh the database e.g. after adding new tracks then this data is removed as it is s/w created. The BPM isn't added to the ID3. Apart from anything else, it analyses in real time (if I remember correctly), so if you point PCDJ at a folder and say analyse...it takes forever!
  5. Hi, and welcome to our little kingdom! :djuhi:
  6. 9) Do not substitute letters within vulgar/obscene/forbidden words with punctuation marks or other symbols. Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) parental software controls and School or Company networks still recognize many of the disguised words and may restrict use / access of the forum to their subscribers. What the EDIT do those two statements have in common??? And why does having 'somthing physical' make you somehow better than a d/load setup DJ? To all you others......I can carry 40/50,000 tracks (if I want) in my pocket. Please note (as stated by robbiedj), these a
  7. I don't really see that this should be an issue, except perhaps the French being french and probably more nationalistic than the Brits. H:cense:l, most of the 'new' euro nations have been doing it for years (even though the lyrics WOULD sound better in whatever, coz then we could just guess what they're about, instead of actually being able to hear that they really are rubbish and don't make sense!)! tongue out icon
  8. Re the above.... Whilst the majority of us will have been able to spot the dodgy mistake.......would it not be more politic to have pointed out the error by PM, rather than making it obviously public! This is a new member, and doesn't really need hanging out to dry. He probably is unaware of the real problem behind what he is doing!
  9. Donna Summer - I feel love
  10. Having worked extensively with both, I find your comment rather confusing! Bored? With what....having the time to actually interact with your 'entertainees'? Or perhaps its the unstressed/next track cued with x minutes to spare syndrome????? And please enlighten me as why 'old fashioned' records are more likely to get people dancing??????? Perhaps your 'entertainees' are so gratified at seeing a 'master craftsman' at work they feel the need to reciprocate and show their gratitude by dancing???? (In an obviously much more concentrated state than a mere Laptop DJ could ever achieve!!!!
  11. Mis-Teeq - Style (Oh I hate myself when I feel nasty!)
  12. ????? Hardly news! Napster and others have been using the subscription model for some time!! But then I noticed....it's the Guardian....
  13. Nope, probably rerouted through a UK centre to give the 0800 number. My research says it was One Tel rather than BT, and they were most likely calling from somewhere in deepest Asia...TPS doesn't cover overseas callers!
  14. Although I agree with your sentiments about pricing, Nik, I would take issue with you about the reasoning for the site! It has always been my understanding that this is as much a socially interactive forum as anything else! :scared:
  15. I would assume that I do it much the same way as most others: 50s - 00s: (Individually) Which would be pop Genres: Music Hall, Mod. Rock, RnR, Rockabilly, Jewish, Nostalgia, Reggae, Blues, Heavy, Punk etc. Specific Date Folders for 1-off playlists
  16. Not necessarily...I regularly update a list that contains the coming releases for the next few weeks (specific dates) and months (no date specified as yet).....and probably a good 80% of coming tracks are available on released albums. The eventual single usually only has a timing edit, so I use the 'album version' until the radio edit is released! And I'm 100% sure that I'm not the only one!
  17. I guess this goes to Dukesy as well......he introduced the analogy! Have you ever tasted the baked beans for 20p??????? I'm definitely NOT joining this discussion at this point, simply because there are always valid arguments on both sides. BUT I will just say this: the 20p can of baked beans costs that because 1) either the production costs and therefore the quality of it have been compromised or 2) the difference between the two products is so great that there is an obvious difference to the consumer. Now, you can apply that (or not) to any of the above discussion....
  18. Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench
  19. Boys Keep Swinging - David Bowie
  20. Never mind how much he charged......I just hope he wasn't one of ours :hurt:
  21. I can only speak for myself (and as you all know....I generally do! tongue out icon ). And I would like to take this chance to answer UK Hero's last point, even if it is slightly off post. I am only a part timer...normally having a full time job, but sadly made redundant just before Xmas, and still not found suitable other.....BUT I believe I offer a professional package, and therefore feel justified in charging a fee that reflects that. And yes, I feel harmed and irritated by being undercut by others that believe that £50/£60 for 5 hours of entertainment plus set-up/take-down/trave
  22. Aaaaah...but then, you could just be saying that to try and put us off the scent!!!!!!! Analyst, only you can see the next part of this post: PM me when you start on the fifties
  23. Of course....you could download your music onto a hard drive......then your collection can be hooked up to (potentially) any laptop/PC with the relevant DJ software!!!!!!! (It's what I do!) As regards any DRM issues...I can't help you there (see Dukesy above)
