  1. I guess as long as you dont play too many megamixes especially in a back to back sequence which i'd never do , if you use any of the 3 megamixes i recommend above you won't go wrong. All the ones i've listed are quite hard to get & only aailable on the dj only cds like mastermix or dmc. I've heard tonnes that don't or won't work sometimes for many reasons like: 1.the length of the megamix [not more than 12mins is best] 2.song choice [a porker of a song somewhere in the mix that ruins everything either it dosent fit in beat wise or isnt a well known track] 3. songs in the
  2. Yeah i agree, 9 times out of 10 , it's better to play the original. But in this case the remakes are better sounding than the originals & go over much better. Point of difference with the example you bring up from the Mamma mia soundtrack is that the version you refer to pales in contrast with the original. That said though there are a couple of tracks off the Mamma Mia soundtrack that are very popular with kids & adults alike & are better produced like "Money , money" & "Honey honey".. The 60's originals of the Four Seasons tracks never worked overly well for me possibly
  3. This is a great soundtrack with authentic sounding remakes of all the Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons hit songs including "Big girls dont cry", "Sherry", "Walk like a man", "Who loves you" I used the first 2 tracks listed above at a 60th birthday the other night & they both went off. They sound way better than the originals due to the excellent sound production. Currently the Jersey Boys stage show is doing a world tour & is already a very popular show.
  4. I few i use>> Young hearts run free - Candi Staton We are family - Sister Sledge Celebration - Kool & the gang Knock on wood - Ami Stewart Funkytown - LIPPS INC I will survive - Gloria GAYNOR Native New Yorker - Odyssey
  5. I guess there are tonnes of Megamixes out there. For me there are only a few tried & tested ones that work really well. Here are some of the VERY BEST ONES that "work" everytime >> IN A PARTY MOOD PART 2 [MIXED BY TOM NEWTON , MASTERMIX Feat: grease, you sexy thing, night fever,& finshes off with respect] SOUL BANANA MIX [MIXED BY TOM NEWTON, MASTERMIX Feat: land of 1000 dances, shake your tailfeather, do you love me] 80's POWER POP MIX [DMC Feat : kiss [prince],she drives me crazy, addicted to love ,kiss[tom jones],billie jean] These mixes seem to work real
  6. Yes i do know that the KV guy used to work for RCF. RCF as a company have got more infrastructure, to offer better deals whereas KV are a very small market player. The comparison you talk above is not scientific in the sense you have compared active KV speakers to a passive RCF system. Do a direct comparison like i have & then decide.
  7. The Corrs Van the Man! Pogues Irish Rovers U2 Bewitched - Cest La Vie Waterboys - Whole of the moon some Celtic stuff also will relate well like: Proclaimers Dexys Midnight Runners
  8. From my experience as a KAM distributor here in New Zealand their original AMP's were terrible & kept blowing up , we had many problems with them. The KAM amps that you are considering to buy are different looking physically from the poor ones i imported , but unless the internal electical design has changed , i'd avoid them like the plague. KAM stuff is generally good but the AMP's were poorly designed. Power supply diodes would often break down .
  9. It's not about loudness! No point in having things loud if it sounds crud. The 15's had very poor bass response they sounded quite dull & were harsh in the top end. I'm interested in hearing from anyone on this forum that have compared the 10's to the 15's side by side. Anyone?
  10. Thats easy for you to say, have you done a direct comparison yourself? I have already A/B'd both cabinets with several dj's & sound tech's present & they also thought the same .Do a direct comparison & come back to me. KV's are very overated & overpriced. It pays to keep an open mind.
  11. No they were genuine i bought them directly from the distributor. I was so disappointed with them i took them back & got my money back. Has anyone on this forum done any comparisons with these speakers?
  12. I had the HK Elias system a few years back. Excellent all round sound. It had 2 seperate 15inch powered subs , you could use both or 1 only. The weight factor of the sub was not back breaking which i liked .
  13. I compared the KV2 powered 10's with the much less expensive RCF ART310A's [powered 10's] . I preferred the RCF's & they were a third of the price of the KV2's ! I thought the KV2's sounded too middy & i thought the design of the cabinet was more of the "old hat" look, especially with the full metal grill.Output wise the RCF's are the same as the KV's.
  14. How could this be? RCF powered 10 better than RCF powered 15!!!. OK, here's the deal. Recently i wanted to upgrade my sound system from RCF powered 10's , ART310A too RCF powered 15's ART525A's. Not that i was unhappy with the 310A's ,i just thought it might be nice to have the extra headroom with the larger functions. So on their arrival i hooked up the new 15's to my DJ console & straight away i felt that the sound was not so clear.I changed the song & tried a few other styles of music. I noticed the bass was almost non existant, even when raising up the lower end frequencies o
