  1. I am a huge Queen fan and have many of their albums and DVDs. I just recently watched Highlander and Queen's soundtrack just makes the movie for me. It's superb. Does anyone get asked for "Don't stop me now"? The original version or the McFly version. It's a song that's been resurrected recently and I was delighted when I started hearing it again.
  2. There was a video on one of those "funniest videos" TV shows I saw recently where the DJ cut the music, stuck on Michael Jackson - Thriller, and the entire bridal party started dancing to it. It was choreographed and actually really good. Nowhere near as cringy as this one!! If anyone has it or can send me a Youtube link to it, I'd really like to see it again.
  3. Barbers Adagio for strings - William Orbit - PLATOON Is that cheating? I know the William Orbit version wasn't in the movie but it's a great tune.
  4. 999,982 "I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph." Shirley Temple :tree:
  5. Never mind compatibility issues (and I know there are many), if you insist on buying a new laptop with Vista and your are offered a memory upgrade - take it!!. Vista is really memory hungry and as your standard laptop will come with 1GB memory, it uses nearly 700MB just running Windows. I would suggest at least 2GB memory or go with XP. My sister bought a new laptop with Vista and it is SLOOOOOOWWWW..........
  6. How old is your PC and what Operating system are you using (2000, XP, Vista?) :wall: Norton runs a real time scan once a week under certain configurations and if you have an old PC, it may be taking up all of your CPU time and not letting you run any other programs. If you can get task manager to run (Win 2000 or XP) and see what the CPU usage is at, that will give you some idea. Either press ctrl-alt-del and click "Task manager" or right click task bar and select it from there. Give it time if it doesn't open immediately. Let me know what you see
  7. Purely because they're good heavy intro's, I'd suggest:- Metallica - Sad but true Muse - Nights of Cydonia Also you could have:- Franz Ferdinand - Take me out Dr. Dre - Still Dre David Guetta feat the Egg - Don't let me go My own ring walk-in song was a 2 Unlimited track (15 years ago I might add!). Tribal Dance I think?!?! Looking forward to seeing your list.
  8. Absolutely not. I would guess that the average DJ "has to" play loads of tunes that he hates. I'm sure Mika gets played all the time just now.....
  9. It has been playing on my mind for several years to get into DJ'ing and although I haven't done it yet, this is definitely the place to get the motivation. I already love music and will become a DJ!!! After an abrupt end to an enjoyable rugby career, I have found myself with a few spare weekdays and weekends so I think now's the time to make the jump, but with some trepidation. I would love to know how anyone else started from scratch (no pun intended) Any stories of your first mixer and p.a. and how you came about it would be good. I have a reasonable music collection but am
