Complete with the Acme CA6 hand controller (one per pair), power leads and Prolight cases. All in very good condition. For The Punk Fans

New Rose by The Damned. Often overlooked band who really pioneered the punk ethic pre-dating the (more media savvy) Sex Pistols. Still going strong - albeit only Dave Vanian (vcls) and Captain Sensible (gtr) from the original line-up. Constantly touring and well worth going to see IMHO. Saw them this year and last year and still do a very good show.....
  4. Also had a top 10 hit with "A Walking Miracle" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?feature=relate...p;v=xWqEShxoNOQ Both great IMHO
  5. Thanks for all your advice! I think I'll probably downsize the rig by selling some of the lights (Knight Spots and scanners) and possibly the LUCAS, and replace this with some smaller actives so I can do the odd private party here and there, without having to keep up with all the requirements for regular gigs. Cheers everyone.....much appreciated Tim
  6. Very difficult decision to make. I've more or less stopped gigging - have done 1 so far this year. Lots of reasons for this but the main one is I have never had the time (or inclination) to spend on advertising and promotion as I have a very demanding day job. The advertising I have done has not produced any work, despite the cost. The best gigs I have had are always word of mouth but there simply aren't enough of them. Spending the remainder of my weekends (when not DJing) trying to get more work would not have made me too popular with the family and I want to spend time with them!
  7. Got asked to play "Mr. Farenheit" - she, of course, wanted Don't Stop Me Now by Queen Have been asked for Cheer Up Sleepy Jean on more than one occasion. People don't seem to know it's called Daydream Believer!
  8. Hmmmmm....I'm about to buy a controller (not sure which one yet) and HDD set up to replace my faithful CD players and massive collection of disks. One thing I've costed into this upgrade are two identical HDDs - just in case one goes down mid-gig. For what they now cost this seems a no-brainer. Glad to hear you'd got adequate backups! Not too much harm done!!
  9. The guy who sold me a pair called them Impossolites! Even wrote that on the receipt..... ImpossibLED - pronounced Impossibl e d methinks?
  10. Yep. I'm the same......always turn up if I say I will. One thing I learnt when starting out in my sales career (day job) was an old adage someone told me "80% of success is turning up". So true. Being there...going the extra mile....and so on. People remember!!!
  11. So sorry to hear your news. I'm in the North so unlikely to see any of your stuff in my local Ca$hconverters but will keep an eye out on fleabay. I hope your insurance cover is valid for leaving your gear in the van overnight.......
  12. Just to add my twopenny worth. I operate in West Yorkshire (mainly) and get all my gigs through word of mouth or an agent. The work my agent brings in tends to be in slightly less well off areas and after he's taken (a small) commission I tend to get around £140-£150. I'm happy with this as the quality of work is always good and he takes his commission up front (as a deposit/reservation fee) and I get paid in cash, on the night, at the start of the gig. I tend to charge a bit more for my own work as I have to do more and, frankly, the market will bear the prices I quote. Additionally, my

  15. Hi For reasons I won't bore you with I am looking to step up the amount of gigs I am currently taking. Happy to chat (if you'd like to PM me I'll provide my mobile or call you) and fill in more details. Ideally, looking for mobile work/private functions but will consider other options. Only use quality gear with legal music (currently CD) and have PLI/PAT as well as reliable transport etc. I live near Huddersfield so travel to any part of South/West Yorkshire not a problem. North Yorkshire is also possible for the right gig. Kind regards and :thanks: Tim
