  2. Hi Guys, Due to recent events at my local venue, ie biker weekends with rock bands, car clubs with rock and roll groups and various other entertainment nights with discos, myself included, being resident DJ,the club has had complaints about noise levels from local residents, thus leading to the venue management installing a LIMITER. Just would like to know what, if any , is the leagal upper control limit for amplified music for pubs and clubs. All I can find out is that after april 1st 2008 pub and club employrs must protect thier employees from noise poluti
  3. hi, I'm a bit slack at the moment , not one booking in august, it may be due to the fact that this is the holiday period for most people and for me , there are quite a few of the £50 disco cowboys in my area. It might be worth checking if you have some upstarts undercutting your prices, try to market your self better......looks like I'm going to have to take more of a professional approach to advertising and charge accordingly. not easy getting work and it seems that different areas of the country have different catchment of people and prices also vary aswel. ho

  7. hi, I hate my regular job and most of the time i refuse to do overtime, but due to operational needs i am having to do a few hours here and their, but at least i can look forward to a gig at the end of each week and that make up for any amount of o/t in a :cense: occupation.
  8. Ive done a few weddings and they are all different, deffinately get their names right and correct pronounciation of sirname, " good evening lady's and gentle men, welcom to , venue name, congratulatulations to shaz and kev, on thier marrage, and if shaz and kev can take the floor for the very first time as husband and wife, a big round of applause for mr and mrs chavvies" works every time most of all dont panic :flirt:
  9. yes i play NY,NY.... Weddings mainly and older clients b'days, its good for a laugh and good dj to crowd paticipation.
  10. hi , ive been there pal, its tough doing gigs for mates, but you get more respect in the long run if you stick to you quotes. most of us DJ's are discos as a business and not a hobby that makes a couple of quid. also remember You provide a service to which a price is set just like any other self employed tradesman.
