Hi all Picked up my Mackie SRM450's a couple of hours ago, got home and opened them up and the power leads supplied are the European 2 pin plug ones! Rang the shop up who said to either cut that off and wire a plug on or use another power lead - i am ok with using another power lead but unsure as to what fuse to have in it - can anyone off advice please? Well basically i got the price of £699 off ebay and asked Digital Village do a PriceBeat (it states they will on their Website), so i tried my luck and eh presto they beat it by £14.00 - which basically has paid towards the new leads. I tried Sound Control in Birmingham who Price Match and they never even answered my query so i will not be taking my business there in the future. Chris

Many thanks for the replys. Digital Village have done me a good deal on a pair of SRM450's - £685 and £6.00 for high coaxial leads with neutrik connectors. I collect them on Saturday and will be using them Saturday night so i feel like a kid in a sweetshop at the moment, just got to get use to not having to set amps up! I will be looking to get an active sub next so any advice would be gratly welcomed Thanks Chris

Strange one for me this December - only got 3 corporates booked upto now. Funny isn't it, i can remember upto a couple of years ago you would do a booking in December and they would automaticaly book you for the next year. I know of 3 regular Christmas bookings that i used to do - they are all going the Robin Hood for some good old live music. Many of the hotels around here are pricing themselves out of bookings too - that is my opinion. THanks Chris

I brought a second hand in brilliant condition Audio-Technica UHF- Professional True Diversity Wireless system (series 1400 vocal) this week - went to use it last night and it sounded tinny - i can see on the back there is a squelch screw i think!!!!!! will this get rid of the tinny noise if i move it around or is it a normal thing with these mics? Hi all A little advice please, i purchased a brand new Kam Kobrascan from Ebay last week - it was from a DJ Store on there. I received the light Friday, went to use it Saturday and only 1 of the 2 heads was working, i paid by Paypal and emailed the company yesterday and have not received a reply from them. Still no joy unfortunately, the Electrical Engineers at work are working on them now, they even contacted JBL direct who were not helpful- even promised to contact us when they knew but did not hold my breath. Contacted Harmann last Tuesday and they emailed back this aftenoon recommending another company so i am in the dark still but i am leaving it uto our Medical Engineers at work who repair all the Hospital equipment, mind they are all qualified sound techs too. Good afternoon Can i ask for some help please, using my JBL EON 1500's last night, as i was settin up my gig for tonight. THe people i am working with tonight asked if they could go through my mixer with their Radio Mics. IN i plugged it etc, they switched them on and the loudest whistle i have ever heard and you guessed it, it has taken the horn out of action. Tried some on the job repairs, tokk out about 14 screws and it reveals the inside and their are 2 what i can describe as glass fuses but they could be bulbs and the 1 as definatly blown. Been onto JBl's site this morning and

They repplaced them with the Impulse series - but the Impulse are not a match for them, filled with little Japanese components i am led to believe. THey now have the new speakers that are loaded with the 15inch Scorpion Driver and they are imported direct from the USA and they are absolutely awesome - check out the Peavey website or pop along to you're nearest Peavey dealer - trust me the Scorpions sound beautiful. Hi Guys/Girls I am now getting fed up of putting my Impossibleds back into their boxes at the end of the night, been onto the guys i brought them from and they have said that there are no flight cases for them at present as they are a new light. What do you use, apparently someone suggested that Staples do a plastic box with a lid but being plastic puts me off - any recommendations would be most welcome. Thanks Chris

TOPIC MOVED Partly DJ related, i am selling my beloved car regisatration plate, it is ideal for Liverpool FC fans, it reads 'K77 KOP' on Retention, i have paid the £110 pound to get the certificate. I am selling has it is going to part fund my new Mackie Speaker fund, mind going to look at the Peavey tomorrow with the 15inch Scorpion drivers in (unpowered) the guy in the shop says they are awesome plus the usual Peavey 5 year guarantee. Took the good lady out last night (last Saturday off until end of July now) - she ain't very happy!!! Went to one of these Pub/Restaurants, we went with friends, took the kids as they have the scaffolding there with the balls and a couple of slides.
