  1. Thank you all for the support.... Not. I am not a fly by bight company and have been trading over 12 years with the last 5 years as full time. My web site is working, Sorry to hear that some of you have been scammed by agencies in the past but this should not mean to tarnish everyone of us with the same brush. Chris, I have not emailed you my details as I work nearly 70 hours + a week so forgive me but I have managed the time as yet to send you a email. If that is the sort of attitude we get on this forum then I can't really be bothered with it, Please remove me from here. I have
  2. Hi everyone. I have just secured another two large jobs for some bars and clubs. I need experienced Dj's to put into these places. You must be over 18. Must have had experience doing bar and club work. Be confident using a microphone. Be able to play a variety of music from 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's dance, chart, RnB etc.. Must be able to travel and have transport. I will need a DJ biography/CV from you with details about your DJ working history, places you have done, experience and any other relevant information also a colour photograph. These jobs are based all over uk but the
  3. Hi Everyone, I have decided to start looking for a new residency. I want to write up a DJ biography to show prospective new clients and/or agents. Please can you give relevant advice of writing one and the information to include in it etc... Or has anyone get any examples of layouts etc.. Very grateful of any help or guidance. Steve
  4. I think the front of your show looks realy nice Hayd. Like the idea of having a static front.
  5. Good idea mate, I could do with some new business card being printed too.
  6. QUOTE Sorry djslt but if I was looking for a service and they stuck a flyer on my windscreen I would go out of my way NOT to book them, they must be desperate for work etc True to some extent, but then we are all DJ's. But would the average customer think this. Its free advertising to a whole car park of potential customers looking for wedding entertainment and services. Its gotta be worth a go for 20 mins work and see what comes of it.
  7. A little tip a wedding fayre's if your have a stand or not. Go and flier all the cars in the car park as they are all potential wedding customers. You can do this at any wedding fayre even if you don't have a stand. Just turn up and stick your leaflets under their windows advertising your disco service.
  8. QUOTE I think a lot of non-specialist club managers are looking for a very reliable hard working DJ more than one which can mix as well as the superstars. Someone who is going to turn up every week, be pleasant, and do a good job at getting the crowd dancing, no matter what the age group is. I totally agree with that statement and thats the way it works with me as its a non-specialist club. They got rid of the last resident as he was unreliable.
  9. I was in until it went under maintenance
  10. I DJ a club four nights a week that holds 1000 people. I started off in mobile discos, which I still run then went on the pubs, and bars and moved into clubs. The good thing in the club I work is the majority of people are over 25. So I play a huge variety of music from 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, chart, dance, RnB, Garage, Drum and bass, Reggae, Ska, Rock and dance. Basically anything goes. The manager is a little bit funny if I dance it up too much though. I use the microphone and interact with the crowd quite a lot. It depends on what sort of club you work and if its suitable or not. If you

    VINYL PRICES!

QUOTE some commercial stuff is highly collectable That is true! Found a website that gives some online prices with regard to records. Popular stuff that was mass produced goes for around a £5. Stuff like John Lennon, Imagine on the apple label is worth around £12. But I suppose its only worth what people are prepared to pay for it at the time. I am going to sort through all my vinyl and list it on a database then price it up. I know I have a very rare record on a def jam label. I cant remember the name now but apparently there was only around 50 made. Still have mine in its sealed sleeve.
