Well my first was a success. I had 2 quad 15 community boxes and the matching 3 way boxes for each one. I basically just ran 2 winamps off my computer.

There seems to be a pattern between DJs and hating school...........

Hey guys. Ive been reading these boards (mostly reading). And making a few posts and it has really helped me out. Tonight (8p.m. to 12p.m.) Central standard time in the USA I will be doing my first gig, my first chance to make money and live the dream that my father did and I wanted to do since the day I knew what music was. I just wanted to thank you guys for all the stuff I learned from these boards. I will be back after the event to tell you guys how it went.

Ram should be easy to come by. You should just get lots more ram for the comp. and optimize it for now and you should be fine but I would recommend upgrading for the future.

Im looking for some good sounding speakers for small venue (houses usually). i was thinking 2 JBL-TR-125 what do you think?

I find that if you put ads at local swimming pools during the summer you can get some nice high paying pool gigs that really help out a mobile dj.

Au Contraie my dad had more girlfriends, and even groupes being a DJ. every day he sees someone that wants to shake his hand for what he did in the 70s.

sorry I forgot to answer your other question! no there are no radio station limits and the demand for both mobile dj and radio is very high in my area.

Im just getting into the field. I have more of a passion to start mobile dj for parties and stuff and maybe later pursue a career in the radio aspect. see another part of that is that if i walk into any radio station in this city and just ask for an application, when they hear my last name i can pretty much have a job no questions asked. I dont want that. I am an independant person and want to make it at stuff I like to do on my own steam and not thorugh what my father did. I will pursue a radio job later in life but I really am starting up and more interested in the mobile dj aspect of it.

My father worked for many stations and even started a station He started The J in Tennesse He has worked for: WDRM WZYP 1500 AM and many others In Huntsville Alabama and Birminghan alabama

Ok. I am confused on amps. like what I need for what kind of system. Such as having 2 2-way 15" speakers 350 watt. what size amp do i need just if someone could give me the lowdown and logic on amps i would greatly appreciate it.

Im starting out and I want to know what are some cds that are used alot, ones that I can have that I know people will be choosing music from. (I do have promo only) I mean like party mix volumes, hot cds. whatever is used alot please help me out thnx.

Hi. I have just started to DJ. I dont have any equipment of my own right now but I go with a friend and have done a few parties. I really like it and say this site and wanted to hang out here and learn some more stuff about DJing. My dad was a radio dj for 25 years and a party DJ for 5 years so I guess im following him.
