I would charge alot more if its an early set up or any other extended time from the oridginal booking form, i would also point out that it would probably not be possible as i usally do a kids disco on a Sat afternoon

I must admit Reverandfunk has got a point nothing better than dealing with the person direct but in my mind i would rather have the drunken scribble than the drunk spitting, spraying & wobbling in front of me thats why im gonna give this ago Also i am gonna collect the slips myself so i can a least meet the people requesting the tunes

Same with me, teenagers try to be cocky & catch you out which i find funny if its a song that is really bad i say you dont really like that do you or blimey i have never played that before Also when they ask to do a shout out i sometimes let them do it themselfs which they love :Thumbup:

Very intresting these request slips but could i ask..... 1. What are they printed on paper or card? 2. Do you go and collect them off the tables or does the requestee bring them to you?

You get the usal questions like what music do you play, how much do you charge, do you have lights but today i was asked how old are you? When i asked why the reply was we dont want a old dj Im only 37 & they said that was fine Now this was for a wedding has anyone else had a question like this????

I have a residency in a pub & i work directly for the owner not a company or pub chain, beforehand he had a young dj who just played drum & bass for £40 per night (bar take was around £700 per night) This young lad was sacked due to the fact he was drunk most nights, this is when one of the barstaff suggested me I went to the venue to check it out, there was no lighting & the cd players were on their last legs so i told the owner i wanted £100 per night (yes £100) i would buy & install new lighting & new cd players/mixer ect on one condition, i was able to go & do m

Dont forget the taxman Venue costs £40 hire inc cleaning (but they keep bar take) Licence £550.00 per year Advertising around £5 (100 photocopied flyers with 50p entry discount, kid takes flyer to libary & photocopy one or two for his/her mates) Your right there is a few more bills but after 20 years its still very much worth my while Must remember to take the rough with the smooth on more than one occasion clashed with other events & very few turned up

Go to your local garage & use the air line to blast out the dirt/dust take a old paint brush with you as well for those hard to reach corners For the lens/ mirror & colour wheels ect i use alco wipes

Thankfully due to my reasons above i do not require a agent for my work nor do i want one On another point due to my workload i do pass alot of work onto other djs, i do not take a cut nor do i not allow them to play at that venue again hopefully they will get more work out of that gig I know this is different from a agent & they do have to take their slice of the cash thats their job When i did work for an agent (this might have changed now) i had no contact with the customer & no info about venue just a address to turn up at Also not alot of venues locally uses agents because

I have a 1500 warrior amp that has been giving me some greif lately 1st i noticed it was cutting out (protect lights coming on sound going off) checked it out to find the cooling fans wern't working so replaced Worked perfect for about 2 weeks now it goes into protect as soon as i switch on also the red clip light flashes every 20 seconds Can anyone help????

The now collection i feel has been great for the dj but how many have you got? I have got from now 10-69 on cd & a couple single digits on LP (but dont use)
