From experience you will find it hard to get people up dancing at a christening, they are their to drink mainly on a Sunday afternoon and have a bit of food, you will normally find christenings are fairly long hours anyway, so if you dont have them up dancing as soon as the food has finished dont worry about it, myself and a lot of DJs I know all have the same experience. When I do christenings I am booked normally as a kids entertainer, so if it is 5 hours long I I will do a couple of games every 20 mins, dont give them everything within the first hour or you will have nothing left. Cheers, yeah I understand it was my responsibility and everything but it was the hotels car park, I just didnt get that they were advertising CCTV and not providing it. I wasnt going to sue them or anything based on it being broken into. As I believe it was that advertising which caused it, if i didnt see CCTV signs I wouldnt have parked there and probably wouldnt have been broken into. Anywayl, lesson learned.

Evening! Last night (friday 28th) I had a gig in Birmingham, which I did and was fine, I then went to a travelodge which I had booked in Birmingham, whilst there I was told the best and safest place to park was in the euro car park opposite which I did. I backed up my van to the wall so nobody had access to the gear (my van is seperated with a bed in one half and the gear in another) and there is a metal bar blocking access to the gear from the front. I am currently doing entertainment for a holiday park on the east coast like Butlins but its a bit smaller. I am here Sunday - Thursday and friday and saturday I am doing my normal gigs. Its good as I have a whole audience to try new ideas with and try new games with kids.

Yet again busy one for me this weekend: Tonight I have a 14th in a church hall in Blackpool 7 - 10. Saturday up about 7.30am to set up a rig, then to burnley to do some magic and balloons, then off to Manchester for a kids party and then back in the evening to do a 21st! Sunday night off but contemplating going to see the black eyed peas at the M.E.N hmmm we shall see!

With bluejools, I had this problem it was a fader on the mixer not the x-fader just a channel, luckily my mixer is 12 channel and so I just don't use that one and it sounds fine.

Hi guys, right serious question about lasers, how do you get away with using them at weddings? I have one which I use for younger parties just a small Equinox one and don't get me wrong it looks great with smoke. But I would have thought smoke isn't allowed at weddings? Personally I wouldn't use a smoke machine at weddings as I think it looks a bit tacky maybe a hazer. If it works lazers at weddings i'm well up for using it but most venues I go to dont allow smoke anymore.

Personally I wouldn't bother I done a residency when I just left school (which was only a few years ago) and I done it for a year but the problem was when people rang in for private mobiles I had to say no. And the small client base which I had when I first started out had gone as I couldn't accomodate their needs. It was so hard for me to get back into the mobile game and for me to get work from agents, I get 90% of my work through a few agents who I trust and know they won't fob me off like some agents. My old man is on the commitee of the local pub in Burscough and they wanted more people in mid weeks and so asked me to do a quiz night. First one was yesterday went very well a load of people in, nice friendly atmosphere and I charged £40 and I just brought a Active PA speaker and plugged the mic and an mp3 player in for background music. But its only an hour or an hour and a halfs work and they are good fun, I will continue to do it.

Hey, Right I bought a pair of Kam IMS PRO 15A speakers. At a gig yesterday I heard something a bit loose when I was setting up and halfway through the gig the top half went all the treble in the speakers, I managed with only one to struggle through. Now when I opened up I found a red contraption on the floor of the speaker snapped off the circuit board and it reads from what I can tell: Audiophiler 106J.HI5 400V. MKP thats what I think it says anyway, questions is, is this the reason why the treble went I don't think I blew it because it was only on half power. Also wh
