I use 7.0.5 with windows 7 and works great!

Funny isn't it? In any other industry if someone came up to you and said "hey I want to help promote your business", You would be delighted and if they then said they would do it for free, you'd be over the moon. Infact the last thing you would do is charge them for it. You would probably organise things so that those great people got all your latest products and promotional material. You'd probably want to check that they are honest and and give them samples that could only be played through specific players. But hey, that would be only fair enough. You's probably giggle at the thou

Looking For A Decent Dj Program For Vista?
cctvguy replied to williamrobb88's topic in DJ & Karaoke Software
Yup I use VJ as well although it can be a pig if you use an external soundcard - it gets confused betwen cards and then gets miffed and won't talk to you. Big question will be what on earth will work with Windows 7 tongue out icon -
Hey up TOM :bouncy:

Agree entirely! But it's only a couple of hours in an afternoon and not having the hassel of lights to worry about means I can still fit in another gig later in the day.

I believe the are still some Hells Angels out there who are after him for crucifying "Stairway To Heaven". Must admit I have fond memories of TLB's from the Junior Choice days

Just got a booking and they have specifically asked for no lights and an adjusted price :joe:

In my case I chrge on a cumulative basis. I've seen many DJ's make the mistake of selling themselves short. I come from a conferencing background so we always gave the customer a choice, in the case of DJ work it goes like this: A basic charge for 8pm until 12pm - music only additionl cost for lighting - basic rig Say £50 extra for 1pm finish Additional cost for karaoke! Lighting effects are then on a sliding scale ie laser show smoke pyros. Gives your customer the knowledge that if they ask for more, they PAY for it. I've fallen for the trap in the past where the customer

Has anyone seen a PAT testing CERT?........mmmm no....cos there isn't one. The law requires that portable equipment is tested by a responsible person and that results records are duly kept of such tests/inspections. All on a "regular basis". Hence many sparks merely type it up! In fact ( and please do correct me if I'm wrong) the HSE doesn't make it very clear what they expect from a PAT test at all. Basically, for the gear we lug around a good visual check and maybe a pat test for any power items is all that is required. The HSE even suggest on thier own sight to buy an inexpensive

Cheers I'm following that one. Been in presentation business for 10 years, photographic since the age of 11 and now work within the electronics industry.... ...kinda know a lot about pushing buttons...lol need to test gear at full tilt 'cos I don't want to rack up the volume and find me amp blow at a do.

£999.99 ? But seriously... I'd look at hiring in some extras to make the night go with a real bang. If someone tells you that they have a budget of £1000 any salesman will tell you that they are willing to spend more. I'd aim to match the upper end of the budget but give good value for money. Look at it this way. If you went into a car showroom and said you had £50,000 to spend on a car they would hardly offer you the basic model. Doubling you fee just makes you look a shark! and you'll get caught out. Offering great value gets you more work...wat ever you do.
