  1. Hi mate, I'm selling my speakers./amp... Its not 15, but its perfect for small volumes and speakers/amp are good quality as far as PA goes.... 1x QSC RMX-850 2x Carlsbro Alpha 12 speakers (200watt each) Id be willing to let you have them for £300, all are in mint condition!
  2. Yo buddy, if your set on having a 19" rackmount mixer then ignore this. Ecler NUO2 £200 and a great little mixer, very compact and easy to transport, has send receive on BOTH channels, check it out - Its not a cheap budget mixer, its well built, has very solid knobs, and they are over-sized which makes control that little bit easier! I loved mine and highly recommend them.
  3. The only thing I'd settle for is a macbook, but then again I hate windows because the mac OS is 100x better and its much better for stability when playing at gigs, mine has never ever crashed and runs M-Audio Torq with no problems what-so-ever, ran it on my windows desktop and got all sorts of problems! But then again, most people on here use Virtual DJ (which is crap anyway). Get yourself a second hand macbook and M-Audio Torq, you won't look back!
  4. I got about 50 breaks vinyl, yours for the right price, I've gone to using Serato ScratchLive so don't really use the vinyl anymore! Got some really good nu-skool breaks stuff in there, I'll get a list up for you if your interested...
  5. ooooh!!! I love breakbeat - thats what I DJ.... Here's some of my fav's.... Plump DJ's - Bullet Train Elite Force - Return2Mindfunk (Vandal Remix) Green Velvet vs Justice - Waters over la la land (Vandals bootleg breaks remix) The Breakfastaz - Shady Breaks Soul of Man - Foxy Moron Beat Assasins - Generation MTV (Plaza de funk mix) Drumatic Twins - Twister B Phreak - Funkbox (Hexadecimal remix) Mars & The Phat Riderz - Communistic Funky Beat (4kuba remix) This is one of my favourite tunes to drop with RAGE killing in the name of bit in the
  6. Those were the days!!!! I wanna go back to student life its so much easier... money appears from trees when your a student.... once your finished the trees seem to stop flowering and need a lot of watering!
  7. In reality council workers don't bother to record the numbers and websites on these banners, they just put them into their bins and walk on till they get to the next banner and do the same thing! A good place to advertise is to make some business cards and take them to motorway service stations, restaurants, supermarkets etc... where they have space for local companies to advertise, you can get a lot of work through this way.
  8. Not a fan of this tune, I hate it!!!! yuk yuk yuk!!!!
  9. Mix on the night always, you can't DJ from a pre recorded mix or a pre-planned list, thats just rude and against every rule of DJ'ing. The main skill of DJ'ing is to understand what music makes the dancefloor work well, the type of music that gets the punters up on their feet and dancing about, this differs from crowd to crowd and as a DJ you have to be able to adapt to different music styles and play the songs they want to hear. To pre-record a mix is just wrong! ...If I booked a DJ who'd done that I would not be a happy bunny as I could have just done that myslef and hired some sp
  10. Definatley cloths over boxes! ...Cloths are modern and look more professional in my opinion, plus they are easier to transport and setup! Boxes just look old fasioned now and a bit 80s!
  11. I tend to get nervous if I'm having to DJ where people are looking at my DJ'ing skills, i.e. playing in a bar as a back up DJ etc... If I'm DJ'ing "cheesy" party music with just simple fades between songs, I don't get nervous at all because no-one is there to judge your skills, just your choice of music which is usually fine for me!
  12. T-Mobile with unlimited internet access and £180 credit per month to use on either texts, voice calls or picture messages. ...When I was at uni, my housemate worked for them and put me on the employee call discount scheme so I get half price line rental for life (as long as I remain a T-Mobile customer!).
  13. Can't wait to watch this; Casino Royal was so fresh compared with the previous Bonds! I'm excited
  14. Moderator Edit We have a dedicated for sale area of the forum which can be used to advertise items for sale, please do not continue to SPAM here, as forum discussion threads are not your own personal ebay!.
  15. If your really interested I'm selling up a lot of my equipment, simply because I can't be bothered to take the mobile aspect of DJ'ing any further. If your interested, I've got a 400watt PA setup (2x 200w Carlsbro Alpha 12s) running off a QSC RMX-850 power amp (very high quality - runs 200w Per channel RMS with these speakers) Also got a really great DJ Desk perfect for the mobile DJ, made by Girraffe and incorporates a T-Bar to hang lights from. I've also got a really good light (can buy another one, link them via DMX and they work simultaneously), its an ACME DynaRoll 250watt
  16. I guess you could think of it like that! If you have 2x DJM-909's, you can route the session out of mixer one to session in of mixer two and it balances the volume for you so both mixers are set to the same volume which just ensures that the output from mixer one isn't louder at the speakers than mixer two which could happen if you individually setup both outputs to input to an amp. Its slightly more clever than just session in when you use two 909's, when you use any other brand mixer then yes, its basically an AUX-In port that you have no control of the volume for that input other
  17. Ah nice one, I know of Woody, been to see him a few times, he's very good...even had a chat with him after a couple of his gigs for some tips! Think he's twice won world DMC championship and numerous British DMC championships! ...Everytime I've seen him he's been using the Vestax PCM-06A (slimline mixer - similar to NUO2!)
  18. I've owned my 909 for over a year now, and I have to say, its the best mixer I've ever used, I don't make use of more than 2 channels, so didn't want a big club mixer type, and started looking at 2 channels. As far as 2-channel mixers go, this is definatley amongst the best out there, I went for the 909 simply because it is superior in customisation, the touchscreen gives you full control and view of fader curves and effects, effects can be assigned to work on auto BPM or manual bpm (you tap the beat using a small button). The faders are solid and very smooth, as are the EQ's, which have
  19. I use Sony MDR-V700s and have never had a problem with them in 4 years. Swivel joints are all perfect, sound quality still bang on, and they are pretty loud. I agree that the HD-25s are better, my friend has a pair and they are slightly better than the Sony's, but also £50 more expensive! For the money, the Sony's are great headphones, they are perfect for most applications, even some top club DJ's use these headphones when playing out!
  20. CDJ800 doesn't have effects like the 400, but unlike the 400, the 800 does full vinyl emulation for full scratch control, the 400 doesn't, it just has 4 strange scratch effects. So in a word, the 400 won't be replacing the 800 anytime soon, the 800 is the 1000's little sister. Also, the top pic is a CDJ400!
  21. Anyone near Cambridge who wants to have a mix? I've got top quality equipment, I'm into drum and bass, electro house, breakbeat, electro type stuff, really into French electro at the moment. I've got M-Audio Torq Connectiv so can play any music on my decks so long as you bring your MP3's with you! ...Just looking to meet anyone with similar interest around my area, if you interested in hookin up an havin a mix, let me know!
  22. Top notch mate, you won't be dissapointed, I loved my NUO2, was going to keep it as a spare, but it never got used once the 909 was in place, so sold I PX'd it when I got my PA amp (QSC RMX 850). You'll have many hours of fun with this mixer I can assure you that much!!! And just out of interest, whats your friends DJ name, I'm into scratching (I'm not very good), but I enjoy practicing, and watching those who can do it well!
  23. Thanks for your introductions... I'm more than happy to share my knowledge and here to learn anything that can progress my skills as a DJ, I'm not really out there to make a living from DJ'ing, I'm a bedroom DJ, only really do it as a hobby and because I have a love for electronic music and enjoy playing around with tunes! Anyone looking for some dnb knowledge, I'm more than happy to answer any questions that you may have so long as I know the answer ;-)
  24. I used an Ecler NUO 2 before upgrading to my DJM-909 (wanted some effects on a 2-channel mixer). I can't say a bad word about the NUO2, its slimline, the faders are quality, the X-Fader is smooth, not a smooth as the 909, but its very light and great for scratching. Its a battle mixer and its great because the lower area of the mixer is free of any buttons or knobs apart from your X-Fader and volume faders, another great point about the NUO is that you can adjust the fader curve on the X-Fader and the volume faders which is really usefull and an essential for a battle mixer. O
  25. Well I did say (or if I didn't then I thought I did!) that you'd need a pair of 200w speakers (400w system) as a minimum. That should do for parties of upto about 150-200 people, any more than that would be pushing it. If I were to do more than 200 people I would start thinking about adding bassbins into the mix depending on the size of the venue, as too many DJ's don't have a clue what they are doing and just setup their bassbins in any venue or any size party. I wouldn't use bassbins in a smaller environment because they become way too overpowering. ...Oh ye, i forgot to mention, t
