Thanks for the advice fellas, at least I have a handle on where we go now.

Me and a friend of mine are just starting out in the Disco business. We have done several private parties for family members etc to build confidence & experience and we are now looking to take it further and set up a legitimate business. It will not be our main source of income for either of us, not yet at least. Would really appreciate people's thoughts as to how best to proceed. I am assuming we don't need to set up a LTD company, I have been advised that we just need to become a "Partnership" however, never having set a business up before I am a little dazed and confused as to what this

The whole issue of PPL seems to be a bit vague, I probably just need to have a good thorough look into myself rather than listening to advice, which I have found can be varied. Just wondered if the majority on here had the licence or not. [Edited at members request]

I have been getting conflicting advice on the need for a PPL licence. We are doing the usual, general disco's, party's and weddings etc and as yet we do not have a PPL licence. Hi There, when connecting my laptop to my mixer I get a slight hum which i can't get rid of. I have been told you can buy a "gizmo" for the connecting cable which will emiminate this, can anyone shed any light on what this gizmo is and where I can get one? I'm guessing it is some kind of surpressor....? Thanks, Jon
