  3. Chauvet Min-Spot I saw these at plasa last September down side not that bright but look fantastic when used in multiples. The stand had a board with about 20 of them all all working together and looked great. They are very small compared with a Mac 250 IMO about 50%
  4. I have contacted the venues resident and he has told me that its is now the venues policy after the incident. He said that he had been supplying LED uplighters to the venue for 18 months without any problems (both dry hire direct to the venue and for his own use to his clients). He did go on to say that if he had checked his IEC lead and used a RCD some of the problems may not have arise.. 1. The IEC lead was fitted with a 13 amp fuse instead of a 3 amp 2. He had used a RCD at the start of the daisy chain. The injury was not caused by any of his equipment but due to the person
  5. I must clarify the par cans in use at the time were LED and not halogen. That would be fine but the venue has asked for an IP65 or above rating or you wont be able to use uplighting. I wonder where the venue got the info relating to the IP rating I would have thought they would have gone for an IP66 or above.
  6. Here is one for you all to mull over and debate: - I have just completed a site visit to a local venue with the clients to discuss the up lighting they want. We met with the venue owner / manager to be told that now as of January only IP65 or above lighting may be used for the purpose of up lighting the room after an incident over the Christmas period, as drink was spilt on some up lighting and there was an injury and electrical damage caused. The venue has now banned all up lighting unless it can withstand having a drink spilt on it and there is a separate RCD fitted. I am led t
  7. Flat fee for enquiries would be a good start Enquiries by county selected by the DJ GP has added to my selection most of which are out of my chosen area.
  8. Have sent out 2 quotes but I have been asked by my neighbours if I can host a street party, they have applied to have road closed for the festivities.

  11. Some 12" singles are worth a fortune. Check record collector for the prices. (Also a goos source for shops who may purchase collections)
  12. I have still got 3 christmas parties left 2 in January and 1 in February. Just wondered if anyone else still had christmas functions left. It seems that the rates are lower in January /February and more companies have taken this route to save cash. My rate hasn't changed but the venues are somewhat cheaper. Is this going to be an ongoing trend?
  13. :welcome: To the forum, Pity that you are too far away from me too I would have loved to take you under my wing for a few gigs.
  14. As I thinking about entering the digital age I am totally confused. Don't really want to go down the PC route (I Think except for the Radio work) & i have been looking at the mass storage players but..... I Like Denon / Pioneer but I want to have a play before I make a decision to what to buy. The Cortex has come up quite a bit but... does it double up as a CAD player? I have been going round in circles Jason has been a big help but ripping my collection is going to take at the present rate approx 6 - 7 years. I have had problems with tagging as out of the first 18 CDs i tried
  15. I think that I will start making my own Bio Diesel at this rate. I can see that if prices continue to rise at this rate we will end up with the fuel protests again. The transport industry will suffer more prices will rise on all products. Q. Name one thing that you can buy that some part of its manufacture or distribution that hasn't travelled by road? A. Nothing..... So there may be trouble ahead.
  16. Haven't really used Good party since the price rise on their fees. Most of the enquiries seem to be aimed at the lower price bracket. Purchased 1 enquiry only to find out it was another local DEJA touting for prices complained to GP and got a refund. I have picked up more work from my website and footwork on local venues...You can't beat the personal face to face approach in my opinion.
