  1. I love the new LED lights which have been oout for the last few years... Acme and american DJ do a vast range!! you can see them in action on youtube!!!! You can get an acme impossibled or miracled light for a little over £100 which work on there own on sound to light, link to each other in master/slave mode or via a DMX desk.
  2. 7.30-midnight i START at £250 for a 1.5KW rig, smoke machine and 1 X T bar. Lighting gantry full of lights is an extra £50, hour before is extra £30, hours after are £50 per hour.
  3. It's factory set for 16 channels per light. so thats how i have it now... i have set up loads of scenes and chases already!!!!!!!
  4. :hurt: ok... im one of the old schoolers who like to plug things in and just have them work..... :spin: I have just taken delivery of a DMX512 desk with all sorts of sliders and buttons on it.. I have 4 par cans with dip switches on the back... i have a single acme miracled with digital readout on the back. :toot: I count myself on the plus side of the average IQ :pro: I can't figure it out :wall:  help!!! edit... reverse polarity swotch has cured most of my woe's!!!!! I have assigned miracled as number 1 (7chanels) and the par cans as
  5. I got the starballs from Zelma sound and light on ebay... they are now upto £50 by the look of things due to crazy inflation!!! there is a DMX version available for around £70... though if you were spending that, it would be worth spending a little more and getting the sunray Tri LED version which are unbelievable. As for the miracled, I was blown away by it from the word go. i set it up in the living room, just switched it on and let it do its own thing on sound to light with MTV up loud and it was fantastic. The kids went mad for it!!!! I then took it to the social club at the fire st
  6. Acme Impossibled or Miracled. I bought my miracled for £110 including delivery. Fantastic centre piece on its own or you can link more than one together or use with a DMX controller later on. there are various video's on youtube. I also bought 2 X american DJ starball's which were £35 each and create a fantastic disco ball effect (but with much brighter and crisper stars around the room. all of the new LED lights create really good beams when used with smoke.
  7. I do a Christmas ball every year and the first hour i play only classical music while the mulled wine flows!!! eine kleine nachtmusik- Mozart water music (air) -handel Piano Concerto No. 21 - Andante- Mozart Air on a g-string- bach The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba-handel Canon in D Major-Pachelbel Moonlight Sonata- beethoven marriage of figaro- mozart The Barber of Seville-Rossini If you find a decent compilation CD with most of the above on it, the rest should also be gems. I love listening to classical music on a sunday morning with my kids... they'r al
  8. I had a laptop knicked the other week containing all of my contracts, literature and karaoke listings... Can anyone make me up a new karaoke list (i will pay!!) or advise the best software to make my own? Many thanks Gav
  9. i was thinking the same.... then when i read the post, i still wasn't sure!
  10. I have one but no manual.... i used reverb setting number 8 as its middle of the road, I use a vocal effect and harmony box now.
  11. I'm on £250 a gig now, (£200 mates rates) 8 till midnight. but charge £30 per hour earlier and £50 per hour after midnight, extra £50 for Karaoke, Live 4 piece rock band =£300 extra (£100 each as i'm already being paid to be there!!) I'm looking at buying some more lighting, extra AMP and a new guitar so i'm looking at putting the basic rate up to £300 (everyone round here charging £280 anyway). That said, i'm relativley happy with the workload.
  12. They are very good, i have been using them for the last 3 or 4 months.... but.. there is something better!!! Proctors Pinelyptus (if you can find them) are about 1/4 of the size of a vocal zone. i pop one in my mouth 5 mins before the first set, then use my tongue to place it on the side of my teeth so i can fish it out again between tracks... i am currently biting vocal zones into quarters as they are too big to use in this way otherwise. They last for the whole set!!! I also have Jakemens throat and chest sweets. I also have about 5 litres of water on stage (room temp never chill
  13. They are free aslong as you only post one pic. I have 1 ad for the BAnd/Disc/Karaoke and 1 ad for my plumbing business.
  14. don't even go there..... won't be long till we are doing disco's with hall lights on to prevent slips/trips/falls, quiet music so as not to damage ear drums, hoists and casters on all our gear so we don't have to lift it, no disco lights to eliminate any risk to the photosensitive epileptics, and no alcohol at the bar!!!!!
