  1. I also phoned PRS, not realising Jas already was doing so!! I clarified the other issue that I wasn't sure about which was where it says 1-5 copies. I suspected it meant 1-5 copies of "one single DVD/CD recording" but I wasn't sure so I checked this, my thoughts were correct. So I couldn't give 3 copies of one DVD to one couple and then give 2 copies of a different DVD to another couple under the same license. I did ask if they have any other license that would enable me to make small numbers of copies of multiple different event DVD's but the chap I spoke to said no, not at presen
  2. Scarily I can only hear up to 14khz.... where do you get to on the scale? http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2009/03/can-yo...s-hearing-test/
  3. I think cars are getting bigger - each years model is bigger and heavier than the last. A new MINI is hardly mini being wider than a fiesta. So instead of downsizing current models they bring in a new smaller car like the citroen C1 or something.
  4. That eyefi card sounds very interesting, but does it transfer straight away as the shot is taken? Or do you press a button to transfer it. I'm just thinking that sometimes I get shots that are not too flattering if someone moves in a certain way whilst dancing or pulls a funny face etc, I then delete them, I don't think I'd want some of them to instantly appear on a big screen if that was the case!! Great idea for a service though. Do you give the shots to people on a CD or something as well?
  5. Weymouth bay Haven - brings back memories of hairy baths and farm foods spaghetti left in kitchens for me... I used to clean chalets there during one of my school holidays as a teenager....
  6. LOL if I'm not taking photographs I do begin to feel a bit like a spare part standing there and would prefer to be sitting at the back, maybe on a stool or something. Sometimes if people come up asking for requests at inopportune moments (like just when Jas is trying to mix another song in) then I'll talk to them.
  7. I've been to a disco once where the DJ used a table with his gear on that was on a stage and then sat on a chair behind it so you couldn't really see him. It was quite impersonal. If I'm taking photos I don't have it so bad as I walk around a bit, it's when I'm standing in the same place the whole night it hurts - (particularly if I wear shoes with heels LOL).
  8. Jas and I were talking about this the other night. We always stand for the whole gig behind the deckstand/star cloth, this could be up to 5 hours! So by the end of the night our feet are always killing us. I think it's acceptible to use a stool or something just to perch, as long as you're not hiding behind the rig. We think we might get a fold up stool so that we can take it in turns to perch for some periods of time during a night. So who else stands for the whole night? Or do you sit/ perch on a stool?
  9. Gosh, Radiohead at a wedding. Good luck. I used to listen to radiohead all the time when I was at uni but now I just find it hugely depressing and only to be played when I'm in a sad mood. Definitely highlighting that it's the requested choice of the B+G is the way to go!
  10. I beleive that someone recently got prosecuted for shill bidding on ebay. It's definitely frowned upon!
  11. I know Tewinbury Farm as we had a couple of work away days there a few years ago. Very nice place should be lovely for a wedding.
  12. Well at least we got a chance to test out "emergency procedures". We found out that the gear necessary for a fairly minimal setup will fit in my car and I can load the car up on my own. Though the SEAT Ibiza isn't the ideal car for loading due to the deep lip on the back which makes things difficult when putting big heavy things (Mackies in Gator bags) in the boot.
  13. I had a look on Parkers used car valuations. For the 1.8 zetec CMAX there's two versions a normal 5d and a 125ps 5d, I'm not sure which one it is. For the normal one with 60,000 miles the valuations are as follows. Original Price £15,215 Franchised Dealer £4,380 Independent Dealer £4,215 Private Good £3,610 Private Poor £2,940 Part Exchange £3,205 This was actually the same for the 125ps version with 60,000 miles (just checked). Would need adjusting down a bit for 71,000 miles I guess, so you're probably looking around £3000 privately?
  14. ..and I've been using my eeepc (same one as Jason as once he saw mine he HAD to have one) tethered to my Sony Ericsson W995 through the sony software on the usual XP operating system. Really pleased with the eeepc, the keyboard and screen are a decent size for reasonable surfing and other use for docs etc. Mines even running GIMP for photo editing. :photo:
