:cense:Updated! With link of possessed CDMix3!!! See bottom of page!

Well, this is my first post so please bare with me!

I first started with purchasing the CDMIX1 about 3 years ago for my house parties. It set me back $499 CAN and I was relativelty happy with it until I realized how important an anti-skip buffer on a CD player was, even for a small venue like a house party. I was still happy enough with its performance and ease of use to wait for the CDMIX3 when it came out.

Well, my retailer called me on december 22nd to let me know that he had received only one unit that he has on display but he would let me have it for $795 CAN (a OK price since the going retail on various site is $599 US).

I had to bring it back the first time because it wouldn't recognize my MP3 burned on a Memorex CD-R. His other CD players in the store could recognize it though. It happened that the sales rep from Numark was present in the store and he graciously offered to bring it right away to his techs at his sales office. He called me and said that the unit worked fine with other CD-Rs. He was right. I bought Maxell and Sony CD-Rs and it worked fine.

A couple of days later, the CD-A part of the unit started to make a loud ''white noise'' like an FM station with no reception!!! The CD-B and phono channels are working fine but not the CD-A. No CDs or MP3 CDs will work on the CD-A.

That's it. The CDMIX3 gives me enough proof that the product was rushed in the market and obviously built with poor components. Two major flaws within a few days is enough for me to bring me to that conclusion. I will exchange it for a Denon with seperate mixer. It'll cost me a lot more but that's the price to pay for quality and peace of mind.

Well, it's now jan 4th and my dealer called me to let me know he had another unit in stock. My party's this saturday and I don't want to dish out more money for the Denon. I exchanged my CDMIX3 and I will let you know about its reliability as time goes by. Maybe, just maybe i was very unlucky with a lemon but i won't hold my breath. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Check out my website for the CDMix3 in action at my house on this jan 7th party! I'm expecting 40 guests! Man! we know how to party in Montreal!

Man! What a party we had! You'll see the details soon on www.crazypole.com and YES! I WILL BE RETURNING THE CDMIX3 TO WHERE IT CAME FROM!!! In the course of the night i put a CD-R in the CD-B part of the unit and it completely freaked on me! The display was flashing all sorts of information, the tray was opening up and closing non stop, etc. I videotaped the unit: Copy paste the following link to your browser to see it in action! Imagine this happening in the middle of the party and having to turn it off to reset it!

I can only hope your CD Mix 3 had an early firmware issue. I'm thinking of getting one of these decks soon to replace a CD Mix 1. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif
