Well, it's Friday 13th, and I'm very sorry to say there's nothing to report toothwise. Nothing for you lot to laugh at yet...... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sad.gif

The drilled tooth still isn't hurting, although the molar in front - the root-filled one - is still giving me jip when I chew.

I know it's going to 'go' sometime and die off and hurt like hell, maybe next month, maybe next year, I don't know when.

Dammitt!! It's the waiting I can't stand!!

Help!!

Anyone out there?

The dentist is fine!! I much prefer it to going to the doctors...

mind my teeth are spot on http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif (touch wood) jus have the occasional check up when im told.... which by the way for people like me with healthy teeth will be anything up to 2 years now with the nhs, imagine what could develop by then!

ooo lovley root treatments just be thankful you dont need a surgical extraction, nursed a few of them myself, (work in the hols for my mum as a dental assistant).

quick tip for yall, when you have an injection ask if they have any of the bubblegum flavoured numbing gel. It helps take the edge off the needle, although not all dentists have it, but worth a try.

After searching high & low for a NHS dentist in my area I finally had to go private because 2 fillings had fallen out, http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/oops.gif I hadn’t been to the dentist for the last 4 years after mine decided to go private £$£$£$£$£$£$£$£$ (loads ‘o’ money) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/363.gif

For the initial consultation and 2 fillings they charged me £200, then they gave me the good news, 1 wisdom tooth which is only just peeping through the gum & the tooth next to it need surgically removing (appointment made with the hospital) & all the other fillings have cracks & need replacing (another £800 worth of work) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/scared.gif

It takes me 2 days to earn what they want for half an hours work, no wonder people in the UK have the worst teeth in the world!

Jackwabbit, my story is pretty similar to yours. The only difference is, that 5 of the 8 fillings I need replacing were only done in 2001 / 2002 and the decay has continued beneth the filling because it hadn't all been removed properly by the dentist who filled them originally, two of them have now gone so deep that they need root canals and a cap (£500 each).

The local paper recently offered £5000 to any reader who could find an NHS Dentist taking on new patients within 10 miles of the town, so far, I believe the prize is still unclaimed!.

The bad news folks, is that with these sweeping reforms within the NHS, more dentists will be leaving them under protest at the new changes which come in on 1st April. So even if you have an NHS dentist at the moment, there is a very good chance that a letter will be on its way to you very soon along with a pricelist!. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif

There is no way I would have root canal work done again, once was enough! 18months of agony & after £350 worth of treatment the tooth had to be taken out.

My latest dentist also wanted to crown 4 of my teeth which he has told me will cost more than double the estimate so far, my response was “don’t be daft its going to take me about a year to get the initial work done because I could only afford to have one filling a month at their prices & I had no intention of re-mortgaging the house”

At least the 2 that have to come out arn't going to cost me anything, I think i'll see if they will take them all out while they are at it. (that way they won't cost me anything in the future i'll just have to go back to baby food) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif or http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pepsi.gif

Last check up for me was £18 and I was in the chair less than the length of "Man I feel like a woman" by Shania, which was on the radio in his rooms.
