Explosion sound effect

Recommended Posts

Hi all, my daughters school need a little James Bond audio sequence putting together for a dance thing, and they have asked me to edit it http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif

They want a James Bond tune lasting about 3 mins, ending in a beefy explosion. I have the original theme on The Dj Box (2 mins) which I could extend, or Jaxx - Licensed to chill (5:41) which I could shrink, but I don't have an explosion to tag on the end.

Anyone know where I could get an explosion from???

Cheers,

BBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHMMMMMMMMMMM !!!

That do?

I've got some BBC Sound Effects Albums (on that old Vinyl stuff), War sounds etc, definately a few explosions on those albums. I can bring those along to the next SEDA meet for you. I don't use them at every gig of course (except the Submarine sonar during the occasional "opps upside your head" moment), so you're ok to hang onto them for a couple of weeks+.

Failing that, have you any action film DVD's which you could "borrow" an explosion from for the required night - true, most action movies have "dramatic" music all over the soundtrack, which might ruin your chances of getting a decent sample, but you might get lucky - Ironically, some of the 70s/80s the Bond films (eg: Spy who loved me etc) themselves had a good way fading out the background music just before big explosions, suggesting quite a good chance of a clean sample.

Another option - in fact the easiest one of all, is to go Googling for "Explosion.WAV", or "Explosion.mp3" and see what comes up...

Like these sound files, for example...

Eat a can of baked beans before the dance then hold the mic close to your rear, that should do the trick! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

How about looking through the audio files in any installed computer games you might have?

Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator has some interesting sounds, but of course they are subject to coyright. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif

I remember way back when laser disc was fighting it out with the first dvd players that they made a big thing about the explosions in the film backdraft and told people they needed THX sound systems to hear how real the bangs were...

no music to dodge just loud bangs...

somone might be able to lend you the dvd
