Afternoon peeps....

Well Spring is well and truly on it's way (with crossed fingers)....

Today has been fairly mild, so I got the bike out to give it an oil and little spring clean...... (1/2 hour to get the fairings off, 1 hour to clean, 2 hours to get the bleeding fairings back on again!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/offtopic.gif )

Had me thinking, any other bikers on the fourm????

"get the bleeding fairings back on again"

Fairy. Fair weather biker??!

Real bikes don't have fairings...... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif

(I'm safe - he doesn't know where I live!)

I like bikes, but with 5 kids they aren't all that practical. I find it difficult to carry all those carrier bags back from the supermarket. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sad.gif

It was many years ago I had a bike, but if anyone's interested, the last one was a Honda CB750F. Nice machine with adjustable suspension, good for allowing for different sized females on the back. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

I got one http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif Its a Honda VFR750, old 1991 but in very good condition, its garaged for the winter at the moment, to cold for me in Scotland to use it over the winter, but hope to start getting out for runs up into the highlands sometime in March as the weather warms up a bit.

Here is a Pic of my bike http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

But didn't you hear she was arrested at Heathrow recently for drug trafficking?

Apparently the offence was discovered when she bent down, and inadvertently revealed 50 kilogrammes of crack.....

I'm actually a triker ( the best & worst of both worlds of cars & bikes) I ride an XS 1100 with imensly overlong handlebars

BTW I'm DJing at the Ace Cafe Mad March Trike Day on Sunday 5th March (11am - 5pm) if anyone feels like coming along

Used to be! Started on a TZR125, then moved to a GS500, then a CBR600 finally ZX-7R (although this one was hubby's). Test drove a few others.

Favourite being Ducati Monster - This is my dream bike and when I am rich and famous will be the one I get for sure.

Bikes for a few years were the only mode of transport I had to get to work, come rain, floods, snow and shine. Sometimes having to commute from surrey to Bristol every week.

Having to get children going to nursery and school put a stop to it as couldn't strap them on the back http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif

Or how bout meeting up at the Ace Cafe the night that Steve is Djing ??

Could be a bit of fun.........

And as for those of you mocking me about my fairings...........

It is an SV650s and would look pretty stupid, uneven and dangerous without em!!!

When i get my Honda CB1300, then we will see who mocks who......

Fingers crossed, it wont be motorcyclist weather for a few months more yet.

We live about 2 miles (about 40 seconds) away from a rural motorcycle shop, and the tiny, tiny, minority of their customers play a huge part in turning the local residents, (some of which were there before the shop sprung up), against the shop, and "all" of its customers, even though the majority of its customers try to wait until they make it to the motorway before getting upto any antics.

Only two or three weeks ago, there was one of these minority alternating between rear and front wheelies (probably some hip name for these), along the fairly busy dual carriageway, often alongside different cars. Two cars followed him into the motorcycle shop and quite rightly, imo, told him exactly what they thought of his stunt.

Another case of a tiny minority, giving the public a reason to taint a wider selection of enthusiasts. Much in the same way that old people entering a function room choose to sit on the tables furthest away from "that noise". http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif

I have to use the infamous A53 "Cat and Fiddle" road to Buxton on a daily basis, and also the "Snake Pass" in Derbyshire fairly regular too, and I have to say that i'm not looking forward to fair Motorcycle weather either http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif as both of these roads are famous with Bikers from all over the UK, some of whom use it as a race track.

Whilst I accept that there are a large number of responsible riders around, there are more than a few novices and 'Born Again Bikers' who are a Hazard to themselves and others - i've lost track of the number of accidents that i've seen on those two roads every summer. The sobering reality is, that there are so many pyre's of flowers along the roadside, come late August, it looks like a 12 mile long Garden Center http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif

Unfortunately there are always a few bad apples in every box!

So please don’t tar everyone with the same brush, after all if we did than that would mean every BMW car driver would assume they can drive at double any speed limit & use the hard shoulder to overtake. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif

After riding through 32 winters & suffering form cold hands, feet & everything in between, I now have heated grips & a full faring & for the last 2 years these have made riding through the winters an absolute pleasure.

I had almost forgot how good it was until last week when I took my bike in for a service, I didn’t even notice the temperature was only just above freezing during the 25 mile ride round the M25 to the service centre. BUT I certainly noticed it on the way back on one of their loan bikes without a faring; I couldn’t feel my fingers after only a couple of miles.

OK so I’m a woos; but there’s no point in getting older without getting wiser! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wacko.gif I think!

http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/oops.gif Not so sure where the scuba diving in March fits in to this equasion though.
